She is incentivised to press a lot because she has innate good recovery on her moves. Political Storm is very notorious for this, as well as her ff2.
I HIGHLY recommend this video, it goes in-depth as to how Gen uses Lidia even against a godly opponent Chikurin who knows how to counter every single move from Lidia's arsenal.

P.S. thank heavens Chikurin dropped Leeroy now in favor of his OG main. He was my 2nd favorite tourney player behind JimmyJ because I just love his style of very calculated high risk Tekken play. When he used Leroy last year he just turned into a typical tier ♥♥♥♥♥ boring guy.
To be honest, while her offence has some really good moves, such as Political Storm, etc, what people seem to forget is that Lidia, AFAIK, is the only character in the game with perfect punishers for each different frame for both standing and FC, and her punishers can deal a lot of damage, especially 3,2. All other characters are missing something, either in FC or standing.
Lidia is pretty much the whole package, but you can't make full use of her unless you are already good at defense.
Would've liked to play her if she was more elegant, as she would've suit me quite well.
saying she's an aggressive rush down character to me that's a nice way of saying she's unga bunga, op offense incentives annoying braindead gameplay where the player doesn't have to strategize much, it's like she's designed to make weak players feel strong and think they're good at the game, in other words she's just another dlc.
Here's a breaking news: instead of crying about everything, get good.
She doesn't have a standard d/f2, but that's not an issue, and her d/f1 isn't the best, being -5 on block compared to the standard -1 or -2 on the good ones, while it's only +2 on hit, compared to the +8 generic ones have, so she can't pressure with d/f1 the same way Lee, Kazumi, Law and pretty much everyone else does.
Here's her punishers:
Standing:
- 10f: 1,2,2 or 1,1
- 11f: b1,2
- 12f: f2,4
- 13f: d/f1,2
- 14f: f1+2,3,2,1 or RD 1
- 15f: u/f4
- 17f: 3,2
FC:
- 10f: FC d1
- 11f: ws4,2
- 12f: FC d/f2
- 13f: ws1,4
- 14f: ws3,2
- 15f: ws2
I just checked, she's the only character in the game to have a full set of punishers from 10f to 15f for both FC and standing. A couple others such as Kazu "Wavu Wavu" DorYa and Miguel have a full set of punishers for standing, but they lack a bunch of FC punishers, while Lidia has everything.
Not even Leroy or Fahkumram have such punishers.
Just going by that, Lidia is clearly not meant to be a mainly offensive character. She's clearly having a more defensive nature, especially when coupled with how linear her moves are.

Unlike Hitomi though, at least a Lidia player makes you think. Just dont fall into the trap of ME NO NEED NO DEFENCE ME ATTACK IS ME DEFENCE!

If this is not defensive Lidia, i dont know what defensive is.
