They really aren't that good. DOA5 actually looks better despite being an 8-year-old game.
Imagine buying RTX 3060 or the next-gen console and then find out that Tekken 8 won't look much better than playstation 3.
When you play this game, your character is right in front of you 100% of the time. I can tolerate dated graphics in almost every game, but this is not one of them. I am not investing in PC hardware to look at my waifus in low quality.
lightings
shadows
are complete ass ♥♥♥♥ in this game
the textures are okay but need upgrade to 4k now that new geenration of graphics is coming
Tekken 5 did get a graphic update for it's ps3 release.
It's time to tighten up those graphics!

LOL, it is only in the Tekken community that I see replies like this.
If Namco was a camera manufacturer making the same outdated models for 10 years, you'd be one of the first people to tell me that I don't need zoom, because I can just walk everywhere, and I don't need image stabilzation because I can just carry a tripod , and I don't need white balance or depth of field because "just Photoshop it".
Tekken always pushed graphic boundaries with each games! Namco always pushed the graphic boundaries!
They started to get lazy around Tekken 6..
whoever at namco thought this was a good idea to have so many sparks and explosion effects needs to get fired.
and in the dragon stage where it's dark and raining with all the particles and effects the game just looks like complete ♥♥♥♥ when you take a screenshot of a rageart
-the art style,
-hair physics,
-body texture models are homogenous (why does law look like a body builder?!?!? and why do the female cast look like barbie dolls?!?! why are the males legs being shortened!?!?)
-horrendous color palette on a lot of stages; mod stages look a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ better than vanilla
and so on....
