With the addition of Geralt

I have dropped all support for Soulcalibur 6. I'd rather the rightful character, Elric of Melnibone, who Geralt was ripped directly from, be in the game instead of his carbon-copy clone.

yes a character created in the 60s who i (and many other people likely as not) had to google because he is pretty far from mainstream that is the guest character who should follow up on Ezio (a well know mainstream character from an extremely popular game), Darth Vader, and Yoda (both from one of the most popular franchises to ever exist). it obviously represents a step down for Soulcalibur to go from instantly recognizable figures that give mainstream appeal to an instantly recognizable figure with mainstream appeal as opposed to a guy only nerds (and only a specific group at that) will recognize or care about.

Im not a huge Witcher
fan myself (beat couple older Witcher games long ago)
But whoever saying Geralt is not popular are making fool of yourself.

The thing is USUALLY people who play Witcher never played Tekken, and vise versa. We are talking about 2 huge fan bases who never intersect and are oblivious to each other.

Witcher is actually GIGANTIC, I can tell you right now that just because of him Namco is going to have SC6 go up atleast 40% in sales alone, due to that character.

Do I like the addition? I'm neutural, could care less certainly not buying SC6 SOLELY bc of Gerald.

But to say "he is unknown and only nerds know him" you gotta be aHUGE hypocrite and Naive one at that.

i was apparently unclear in my original comment i was saying geralt had mainstream appeal and that only nerds know the other guy. sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, including a non-popular character instead of a popular character is the way to go.
Wait, no, it isn't.

Hey, at least you made me remember that I have those books on my backlog because I didn't remember about them until now. I mean, the character is known enough to influentiate some music bands/artists, comic book artists, etc. but Geralt is more popular, at least right now. It's just obvious they would put him there, plus Geralt is in video games. Elric as far as I know... he isn't in any? And if he is (which I don't know), they aren't current.

Edit: It's just your fault that I also remembered about Cirith Ungol (band) because its album cover Frost and Fire. Haha. At least I'm grateful for that.
