Asuka would be a good choice for you.

Kazumi isn't bad either and would also help you get better at the basics.

Katarina and Noctis are very beginner friendly.

But really pick whoever you think resonates the best with you.

Asuka will be best for u. Maybe Noctis can carry u to TGP than Asuka but he can only teach u how to mash buttons. At least with Asuka, she has weakness that will make u realized u need to solidify your gameplay later on. Very fun indeed. Unga bunga now, fundamentals later.

Note: Im saying this based on your wordings "noob-friendly" character, so I take it u dont care learning the fundamentals as soon as u plunge online.

I care about learning the game itself for sure, i just want a character thats not too overwhelming for a noobie. what about Asuka makes her noob friendly?

Yeah, I mean applying those fundamentals is quite hard. Most newbies who play fundamentally give up in green rank bcoz they find it hard to play fundamentally than cheesing to defeat their opponent. I'd recommend Kazumi if u want to play fundamentally, but she has no gimmicks unlike Asuka.

Asuka is newbie-friendly (now I refrain to use word "noob" out of respect) bcoz:

1. You can learn her easily in a week or less
2. Her moves are quite simple and easy to execute
3. Her combos are pretty easy. There are optimal route of course, which requires little tight execution, but u can go for easier route if u are still learning her
4. Opponents can fall easily to her flowcharts. Sample are her white heron combo (1+4,2,4 and 1+4,2,d4) it can take u alone to purple ranks. Though just to be clear, u still need dedication on her and seek help in case u r in trouble.
5. Parry is always your friend. Most players dont know how to chicken
6. B3 (back + 3) can catch your opponents bcoz most of them like to mash buttons.
7. She has unchickenable punch parry (2+3) works well against opponents who like to jab too much
8. Her snake edge is pretty OP against low ranks

Those are only few reasons. If u are interested to use her, let me know. We have tons of resources that can help u as beginner :)

Notation in case u dont know:

1 - square (left jab)
2 - triangle (right punch)
3 - X (left kick)
4 - circle (right lick)
2+3 - press triangle and X simultaenously (u can bind this on settings)
1+4 - square and circle simulteanously
1+4,2,4 - press 1+4 then triangle then circle
1+4,2,d4 - press 1+4 then triangle then down+circle

It is not important, you will be beaten down badly in the beginning regardless of who you pick. Especially now that the game has been out for so long. Pick a character you find appealing for one or the other reason - aesthetics, fighting style or one or more moves you find satisfying to land. Also, ignore Tier Lists. They are unimportant outside of pro play.
Asking what character to pick here will lead to biased answers. This is best to figure out yourself.
Leroy is newbi friendly or zafina or yoshi or eddy or migueal or caludeo

There is no best character for a beginner. Pick anyone you like. It's just a game to enjoy, not work to toil over. Don't think about games like chores. You'll learn games as you enjoy playing them.

yoshimitsu ofc

All advices mentioned above are good except for:

Yoshi
Ganryu
Eddy
Zafina

because they have stances and a lot of moves. That is an unnecessary baggage for a beginner imho. A lot of noobs fail to learn the char properly and then proceed to cry why they don't have results, why life is unfair etc.

You can play just as well without it with a different char. For example already mentioned:

Katarina
Noctis,
Claudio,
Negan,
Asuka,
Leroy,
Fahkumram,
Kazumi,....etc. etc.
