Top 5 Tekken games (excluding 7 till the release)
Before Tekken 7 is released i want to know your top 5 Tekken games.Explain why you like them.
Here is my list:
5:Tekken Tag Tournament 2
The best spin-off Tekken game from the franchise, and you can try 1vs2 if you want. But the tag combos are kinda hard to learn.
4:Tekken 3
I know many will scream "WTF tekken 3 is the best ♥♥♥♥♥"
But the disavanteges is that Kazuya and other characters didnt make it to be in Tekken like Kunimitsu,Armor King. But i still love this game.
3:Tekken 2
Best classic ps1 Tekken game in my opinion, also Jun is only in this canon tekken game. The OST is amazing and introduced many new characters like Lei Woulong,Roger,Alex etc.
<3
2:Tekken 4
Most underrated Tekken game so far.BUT it has the darkest story from the franchise with everybody having a real problem to enter the tournament except Kuma and Combot.Paul had problems with depression,Law dealing with alchool problems etc.
Also the OST is nice, not great as Tekken 2 or 3 but still nice to listen to it.
Honorable mention for the 1st place:Tekken 1.
1:Tekken 5
This tekken game has everything perfect for me except that Paul has became a joke in the series in and after this game.
Also introduced one of the cheapest bosses that i had nightmare, freaking Jinpachi Mishima.(possesed by an evil spirit)
Please respect each other's opinion. :)

I never liked Tekken 4. The walls seemed kind of broken and the game felt kind of slow compared to Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 5. I always had the feeling, that they made one slow and one fast game. Tekken 2 - slow; Tekken 3 - fast, Tekken 4 - slow, Tekken 5 - fast, Tekken 6 - slow. Now I prefer the games I consider fast, but I do kind of like the others too, although they never held my interest for long (except Tekken 2 way back in the 90s).

Tekken 5 and Tekken 3 would be my favourties. I did like Tekken Tag Tournament 1+2 but never owned them myself, so I don´t want to judge ;)

1. T5: Best villain, Best commentator, Best Opening, Customization for the first time.
2. T2: Best OST by far
3. TTT2: Best character roster, Awesome Tag mechanic.
4. T3: Nostalgia overload
5. T6: Didn't shine as much as the above mentioned, but was overall the most polished.

I dont think i can make a top, i just can say that each game is best at some aspect.
Tekken 3/2: OST
Tekken 4: Story Mode
Tekken 5: Gameplay
Tekken 6/ Tag 2 : New mechanics
The rest of games are just classics what i can say, not bad games just nostalgia as ppl say. Tekken 7 is probably gonna my #1 since so far it looks like a improved version of the aspects from past games.

5. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection - Like the regular Tekken 5 but with more characters and stages. The awful "Devil Within" mode removed and also with a less cheap Jinpachi. Why it isn't ranked higher is that there is too much sillyness in the game with plenty of the character endings, the custom items etc.

4. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - Has nearly every single character from all prior Tekken games, TAG and 1vs1 battles. Pretty nice visuals and music that not only good but can be customized as well. I also really like the end battle with Jun/Unknown. Feels a bit too similar to Tekken 6 though.

3. Tekken 4 - Darkest game in the franchice, the best character stories. Had the balls to change pretty much all the default character outfits and brought in a lot of new and interesting gameplay ideas. The best implementation of Tekken Force and has a great soundtrack and visuals that still hold up well for a PS2 game. Has issues though with balancing, the end boss is Heihachi in a diaper and it's missing certain characters like Jack, Anna and Armor King and instead we have... Combot.

2. Tekken 2 - Best soundtrack in the series and the most atmospheric. The most epic opening sequence and no character in the game feels like "filler" and the best end boss. The fighting and combos are bit basic however

1. Tekken 3 - Not only the best Tekken game but also one of the very best fighting games ever made. Mindblowing visuals for a PS1 title, the character designs are excellent (Yoshimitu for example has never looked better), combat and control are super quick and repsonsive. Tekken Ball was fun and so was Tekken Force. The game really has no major flaws. I can only nitpick like how True Ogre is a bit of a pushover, no Kazuya but Jin in this game was a good replacement and as good as the music is I still the music in Tekken 2 was every so slightly more.

You are of course, I somehow in my brain transfered over his Tekken 3 absence to Tekken 4. The poinst still stands though that I feel the roster is a bit lacking in T4.

1. T3
2. TTT1
3. T2
4. T1

I really think the franchise went downhill after Tekken 3. I played them all, but I struggled to get interested in the fanchise after the first Tag Tournament. Played a bit of 4, a bit of 5, a fair bit of 6, a bit of TT2.... but I was fan of T1, 2 and 3. Here's hoping 7 will bring the excitment back.
