Why isn't there cross platform ?

Want to play with a friend but he plays on ps4. That's a big let down why did they do this sfv allowed pc vs ps4 matches.

well i know they can crossplay with xbox if they wanted to, xbox is all about crossplay to build pops for their games

ps4 I don't think there is a specific limitation cuz SF5 does crossplay. I just think it should always be 'opt-out' for the console players. I know most of ya are honest but there is a chunk of pc players that use scripts and macros to trivialize some game mechanics.

The issue is that SFV was not released for the Xbox. Sony doesn't want to allow crossplay between Xbox and their console. They could allow PC-PS4 and PC-Xbox crossplay but that+ the less input delay, would make the PC version the clear winner and would probably piss a lot of people off. People would also have no reason not to buy the PC version if they have a PC that can run it on even low since Tekken isn't really that demanding of a game, which would result in Bamco cannibalizing their own sales. If you want to blame someone, blame Sony because If i remember correctly, Microsoft stated they have no issues with crossplay between playstation and xbox consoles

And because 90% of the sales are for the PS4 version, Bandai obeyed to Sony.

Because Harada and BN are cheapshates. It will naturally effect their next fighting game on PC unless online cross platform is implented very soon.

What I wonder is why they don't make it a matchmaking setting, where you could choose to crossplay with PS4 or Xbox. This way you get the best of both worlds and Sony don't need to let Microsoft access their server.

Its funny because last generation Sony wanted crossplay but Microsoft said no because they had the majority of the target audience, especially in the FGC now the tides have turned and this is happening. Its all business in the end of the day. I noticed that crossplay games between PS4/PC always had some kind of external server. Like SFV has CFN which you have to make an account, paragon as well. So maybe Bamco would have to make a whole new system if there is crossplay. Also if crossplatform were to ever be enabled for all platforms the game would have to get a HUGE patch, because there has to be absolute 100% parity between the platforms. Like with SFV PS4 and PC gets EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING happens at the exact same time. (Possibly even overall input lag but the PC will still end up having lower input lag regardless because of the obvious hardware choices (monitor), software choices (Nvidia settings to lower input lag like max pre render frames), and the obvious Vsync off.





but really, Sony just doesnt want to do it because then they would lose a lot of their audience because there will be better options to choose from. There would be no reason to choose PS4 over PC. With SFV crossplay saved the PCs ass, if it wasnt for crossplay the game would probably be dead on PC or at least have very few players on their end, PS4 crossplay really incentivized PC players to come and stay.

Tekken is now on all legit platforms and fans demand PC VS XBOX 1 crossplay or fans wont buy their next game as thet will vote with their wallets, how wouldnt an industry veteran like Harada NOT know about this ?? Remember Harada called ALL PC gamers cheaters, I dont think he cares if T7 dies on PC or not that damn cheapskate.
