What is your experience with xbox one d-pad?
I want to ask about this because I own 2 xbox one controllers and at least one of them seem to have some d-pad issues.

The first contoller makes it almost impossible to do d/f and d/b, comes out as f and b.

The second one is better, I can do d/f and d/b, but sometimes when I do f it goes d/f, or d/f comes out as d.

I wonder if I should just buy a new one from amazon and keep returning until I get one that fully works? Or is the whole controller design just flawed?

What is your experience with these controllers?

I had a xbox one controller once but returned it after 3 weeks because i couldnt do regular hopkicks, instead i always got delayed hopkicks or u 4 inputs.

Since then i only use Dualshock 4 pads

The new xbox console is coming out this year, with an updated controller design. I wonder if they'll make improvements to the d-pad. I can already see it has a different shape, and it curves around the edges, like a bowl.

Looks like the Xbox Elite controller.

I use the xbox one elite controller with the weird d-pad that it comes with. The default d-pad isn't too bad imo, but you definitely get more misinputs.

My xp with xbox controllers are terrible. terrible terrible terrible. so much missed inputs, multiple directional inputs; pressing one direction always registers 3 directions at the same time. So bad, I always resorted to using the analogue stick on it, which I honestly had more accuracy with over it's d-pad, but cd input moves and backdash cancels were still too hard to do, and there wasn't enough control to use movement as much as I could.

It's the most retarded thing ever to make a single button for 4 inputs. idk. maybe there's some way to make something like that work, but xbox controller is the worst.

get a different controller, maybe a DS4. or maybe get a fight stick or hitbox.

What about this controller? https://www.amazon.co.uk/HORI-Officially-Licensed-Fighting-Commander/dp/B07TKN3318/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=hori+fighting+commander&qid=1594509095&sr=8-1

I bought it years ago, but returned it cause I didn't like it. But maybe I'll give it another go. What I don't like about these companies (like Hori or Madcatz) is that they make a controller, and then stop production, so you might never get another one in the future when yours breaks.

Depends on what your most comfortable with, I main jin with a xbox 1 controller and I am pretty easily able to execute his ewhf, wavedash and the 100$ combo (took me a week to learn all this). In the end it's the player who controls the controller and vice versa, 2018 tekken champ was a d pad user named sora btw.
