diagonal imput issues.. (ps4 dualshock pad)
Fairly new to tekken 7 as a FG, playing alot of josie.
Alot of her strings and launchers require a df imput (the diagonal arrow) and i just cant seem to directly imput it on the ps4 pad, sometimes opting to just press diagonally on my left stick. Is this a hardware issue or just something that needs work.
I literally cannot get the df imput at all lol, i only get d+df+f which is soooooo annoying.

Edit: i input f d+df+f2 for her launcher which is bad ig

But she does the move, doesn't she? Where's the problem?

Git gud. I play on X360 pad and it's even worse. Took some time to get things right, but now it's not a problem

Imputting d+df+f takes longer meaning more frames to be ch countered. Instantly pressing df+2 is a smaller launcher aswell for easier carries lmfao

Edit: i have to imput f d+df+f probably should of specified more

There should be enough input delay to make up for the difference. My diagonal inputs are usually all over the place and I've never had a problem with this.

The only options you really have are:

Get good (I did this when I had to learn BlazBlue on a 360 pad)

Get another controller

Get an arcade stick

For the last 10 or so years now, I only play on stick

But the directional buttons on a ps4 controller are about as precise as it's gonna get. Unless you wan't to play on a keyboard. Getting another controller or an arcade stick is not gonna help in any way. Unless the controller is defect.

The dpad on a PS4 controller is fine, but it doesn't feel that great for fighting games because its on a rocker and there's not really any tactile feedback. You're gonna have to learn where exactly to press the pads, especially for diagonals, and how to avoid rolling inputs.

A lot of older Tekken players know that the advantages of a pad are movement speed and button macros on the shoulders. The speed you can move your thumb on the pad is just faster and more efficient than the activation distance of an arcade lever. But the stick has better precision and better right-hand buttons.

They make fightpads just for people who don't want sticks, they have a special dpad that clicks when it activates a direction and feels much better than the DS4. It's much less of an investment for someone who might not be serious about fighting games, and its easier to carry with you
