What do the symbols mean in the move list?

What the hell the symbols are supposed to mean in the command list? All I can do is randomly do moves, there's nothing in the game that helps me learn about strategy or bypassing blocks or anything like this.

What's the star? What's the red little dude? I get the arrows and the button symbols. How am I supposed to interpret random other symbols?

Star means neutral, not to touch the stick/pad for a split of a second. The red dude is explained in the command list. You have something like "help" or don't remember the name, and there it is explained, I think it was something wall-related.

Discane do you play with Shaheen? I have a doubt with something I saw on a video. Asking just in case.

go to the movelist and there's a button that can tell you all the symbols. just look on the bottom

White arrow - tap arrow
Black arrow - hold arrow
brackets - press the buttons very quickly
star - neutral (don't press anything)
Red guy symbol - power crush move, uninterruptible but still takes damage
Green symbol - screw attack, if you do the move midair it allows for a followup
Blue symbol - homing, hits sidestepping opponents

OP's post is a reminder this game needs a tutorial mode.
Markets a game to newbs and casuals, but doesn't give them a tutorial. lol

YOU CAN LITERALLY go to the movelist and if you go to the bottom, it says HELP. with a xbox controller, you press X for it to go up
