Fight Stick
Who here uses a fight stick and which one do you use? I am looking at the Hori Pro N but did not know if something else may be more suitable.

just buy an arcade cabinet and stick your pc in there! nostalgia lvl 100.

unless you played on one before they are all going to be weird and take just as long to get used to. may as well buy a $60 stick and if it suits you but falls short somehow upgrade it. or build one, there are tons of parts and guides to choose from and you can build it to last forever.

don't buy stick for less than 150$, they are crap. hori rap 4 or 5 is the best choice to start

I have a couple of sticks, but my favorite one is my Qanba obsidian. Your choice is a great one,so go for it. I prefer Sanwa parts, but Hayabusa has decent parts too.

Actually, when we say, don't buy a cheap stick, we mean buy a quality stick. The problem is that not many companies make them, and the prices are all kinda the same.

I personally used an Eightarc Fusion for years until the current generation, and now I use the Razer Panthera. The original, not the Evo.

My friend has most of the current gen sticks, and the Dragon, the Obsidian, and the TE2 are super good, but prices vary. The only "cheaper" stick that felt good enough to play on for real was the Quanba Drone. The only problems are it's very light, and you can't mod it.
Had a RAP N and it was good build quality wise, nice design and solid parts as well. I sold it because I got a Razer Panthera for half the price, I wanted the clamshell design and it was quieter with Sanwa parts as standard. The RAP N is a solid choice nonetheless and you can easily swap Hayabusa parts for Sanwa parts if you feel the need.

Also, the RAP N has a Noir button layout which is cool and pretty comfortable.

I use a HORI RAP N with 309MJ stick.

I use a Mayflash F500 with all parts replaced by sanwa parts, plays great.

I use a madcatz tes+ but im plannin to swap the pcb for the brook universal fightingg board since im a input lag freak. Basicly any sanwa parts stick with a recent pcb is going to be good. Sanwa is just a preference though, i'd recommend as a standalone product the razer phantera. It's close to lagless, wide case, good looking and it even gives you a free bat top to swap for the ball top.

I'm actually using that bat top on my tes+ and it's like playin a korean stick but with microswitches

Imo the razer panthera is the best stick because of the extreme ease of modibility. https://www.razer.com/gaming-controllers/razer-sfv-panthera https://youtu.be/tv9Kg2Aeudw

There's no difference between the brook and the one you have. Even if on paper there is some miliseconds difference, that will not translate to the game.
Only if there's more than 1 frame difference it will be a difference.
Also, korean levers use microswitches as well.
The main difference between korean and japanese levers is not the battop, it's the rubber grommet inside of the lever.

I always knew that korean stick has no microswitches and a rubber thing, do you got some data to prove your statement about madcatz and brook pcb?

I don't know how you guys can be satisfied with plastic cases.
At least build a nice, solid wood case and transfer the parts over.

Korea stick does have micro switches.
You can check on http://www.teyah.net/sticklag/overview.html
1 frame has 16ms at 60fps.
So if your stick has an input delay of 13.95ms, it's no difference to a stick that has lets say 12.78ms since they both still hit the exact same frame. It would become an disadvantage if the PCB has a delay larger than 16ms which would basically make your inputs hit 1 frame later.
Basically the advantage you get from 6ms faster PCBs will not translate into the game in 95% of your inputs if even at all.
With your current PCB you will hit the frame you intended to hit and with the brook PCB it will be the same.
I have used your PCB as well as the brook PCB and one cheap PCB from mayflash and there is literally no difference in reaction times.

So you confirm me i dont need to swap the pcb to achieve less input lag? Iirc my stick is like b tier lag

self built. you can save a lot of cash if you can come up with a cheaper enclosure to put all the quality parts in.

if you are crafty and have axcess to tool then its a no brainer.

I'm currently playing with a Mayflash F300 with sanwa parts for only 55 bucks. It works perfectly, you should buy one for yourself.

I have a custom stick. Foe Hammer Stealth for the case with the Sega player 2 layout. JLF is heavily modified with a GamerFinger Optical joystick, a 4lb spring and a Link shaft. I use an octo gate. For buttons I have Sanwas for the panel, and Seimitsu for the sides. And I use a Brook UFB for the PCB.

Is that Sega player 2? I honestly find it much better than Vewlix.
