Where are you located? If you are trying during your country's non-peak times (check steam charts for peak player numbers), you probably will have to wait.

Find local players so you can play offline as well as online with them.

Search for tekken discords on locations like Tekken Reddit. That way you can see how many people actually play where you live.

Agreed. I will admit however, that jumping on a Monday night at 3AM probably isn't the best time to be fighting people in an online Game-Space. lol

This sure as hell isn't fortnite where you can jump in and get a game in seconds. But as a fighting game this game is very alive. I also doubt free to play would help the playerbase that much if at all. There would be a spike at first but then I think it would return to current numbers. The reason we don't have tens of thousands of players at any given time is not because the game is expensive. It's because the game is hard and people hate getting bodied by better players.

i dont know about north America and Europe but here in north africa the game will eat you time to give you an online game

Had the same issue I live right in the Caribbean, direct Fiber Line to USA at 48ms in Florida. And yet still unable to get a single match except this one match with a guy from Asia. LOL

Good thing there was a refund. But I dunno if this was because I was new rank and nobody was in my rank I did have it set to everything tho

I have way more success in Revelator 2 on Discord finding great connections and matches than T7 thats why I don't bother with T7

Yes it is dead and yes F2P would bring more players, but every time a comp game goes F2P it turns into an anarchistic mess, because people simply mess around with no interest in actually trying to get good. F2P destroys competitive games. Tekken 7's biggest flaw is its absolute contempt for newcomers. The tutorial blows, and nobody who is new to 3D fighters has any chance of getting good before they totally burn out. The strict fanservice was a huge design flaw that doomed this game. If Tekken 8 ever happens, they better make damn sure they include a decent tutorial for people who have never played a fighting game before. F2P will not help.
