Tekken and all fighting games for that matter can easily become frustrating, as your skills are continuously put to the test against completely random people that play in completely different ways, with various different characters. Nothing strange about it.
But, I saw that it wasn't a really enjoyable experience.
1.Instead of learning the game by yourself and by playing you have to watch lots of videos and read lots of guides.Otherwise you don't get anywhere.
2.You suddenly encounter opponents that just destroy you like you are nothing.(Since they have probably played Tekken online for like 1000 hours before Tekken 7)
3.You have to own a fighting game stick to actually be able to properly perform some crazy moves which I don't.(If I ever buy a stick I rather get a stick for flight sim games)
4.All that you do is 1v1 battles. In other multiplayer games you have far more variety in gameplay.
5.You have much worse cheaters in online mode of Tekken 7 compare to other genres. Some players just pick OP characters and spam OP moves, Some just use scripts to perform difficult moves etc.
6.Also what's the point of learning to play better ?
Whenever you get better you will just get rekt by better players that again force you to become even better. So you don't really get any enjoyment until becoming a top player.
And at the end you have to spend your life to be a top player and at best earn 50,000 Bucks at the tournaments which isn't really worth it.
So, you have to either play Tekken 7 online to be a top player or not play at all. There is no fun value in online mode of Tekken 7 for me.
Edit: I just appreciate Tekken 7 for persuading me to not buy anymore fighting games in my life.(I just watch their 2-3 hours story youtube videos since I personally like characters of fighting games much more than the game itself.)
when i find myself feeling frustrated by a matchup ("ugh asuka is so annoying i keep getting stuffed!!!) i always try to pull it back and take ownership of the frustration. what i mean is i'll try to shift the line of thinking from "asuka sucks to play against" to "i feel frustrated because i can't play the way i want" or something like that. you benefit from this because it ensures the thought isn't a dead end. if i'm telling myself a character sucks to play against, that's that, there's no changing the roster and therefore no changing my feelings. if i'm telling myself i feel frustrated because i'm being opened up or stuffed or things just aren't working, it's always the start of a thought process where i ask why and seek solutions. frustration isn't so bad when you have an idea of how to move forward through it
like others have said, a break could help too! good luck!
Just had a game against a Dragunov who spammed the same 2 strings over and over. I know how to counter it duck and launch punish. That didn't happen the input delay made the ducking nearly impossible I left the match and then it said you have a 8% disconection rate and I thought to myself have I had fun in the nearly 200 hours of trying to learn Tekken online? The answer to that is no I experience nothing but frustrations and anxiety shown by the fact that I leave 8% of my games not including leaving at the load screen when I find the same 4 bar but no actually 3 bar connection guy for the 7th time in a row.
I think I'm just done with fighting games, no extended break is going to fix the issues I have with this genre or game. I think its high time I just accept these games will never be fun for me.
As whole FGC is completely notorious for this from what I've heard.
Not long ago there was a newbie complaining about king hellsweeping him, using unbreakable chain throws etc. etc. simply nonsense. Those threads are a waste of space and time.
Tekken 7 has the best community I have ever seen. If someone wants help with anything there is always tons of responses super fast. I am also responding in steam forum just so the newbies are not lost at the beginning of their experience.
But Tekken is obviously pretty demanding game - if you don't play well enough you get beaten (literally) again and again. So its surely not for everyone.
But of course Tekken has the most stable playerbase in FGs for a reason. IF you happen to like Tekken and its challanges its usually not a short term relationship :)
Also keep this in mind:

This could be viewed (imho) as an excellent example of how many players buy a game, play it, get frustrated that it requires dedication and time to learn- and QUIT.
That is a huge change in player numbers. Now honestly, there are reasons for some of these huge differences: People change games, people get bored and sometimes comeback after new content drops (we will see this when Bruce 2.0 is released). Players get burnt out, players are casual and give up, players are not interested in playing competitively and realize they have been playing in a vacuum for years, and many many more.
This should wake-up players who think they can buy this game, skip many previous ones, and think they will blow up people like it is 1999 again... It doesnt happen that way for a vast majority of players.
I think what many of these types of players don't realize is this:
If you skip a game or choose to give up (for an extended period- not just breaks) other players at your level currently will not.
They will surpass you, they will learn and then they will beat you up when you come back. This also explains the many many posts on here complaining about SMURFS. Smurfs are usually players who don't play ranked until they are ready.
Players need to keep in mind that learning this game is a complicated task. There are many things to learn (fundamentals and mechanics), and many specific situations for each character in the cast. As a new player (or a player who has been playing off and on casually since Tekken *Insert older game here*) the game gets harder as time goes on- not easier. If that twists your short and curlys, I don't know what to tell you. It is the truth and the truth sometimes hurts.
The many many complainers on these threads all miss one critical step when they post...
They don't research beforehand.
If King gives me problems, I don't go directly here and spout nonsense to feel better or expect a pat on the back and a hug from other players that don't know the facts. If players researched why they lost (which is 100 times easier now with replays, frame overlay and punishment training) as well as using outside resources like discord or YouTube (only some examples- there are many) these posts would NEVER be this prevalent.
And honestly, many of these same players who complain don't want to work for it. They refuse to learn and don't embrace what many decent players will tell you- that you need to learn to love the learning process not the feeling you get from winning.
What char do you play?
also most players have barely any desire to get better, they just want whatever improvements are easy to reach and really don't want to treat the game like something that needs training or work
its just an entertainment that can be discarded or ignored as soon as it loses its dopamine
vast majority of players have literally no importance on getting much better unless they have some friends to play and just want to beat them or have even matches with them.
online is really mostly fun at lower ranks where you can do lots of stuff and have fun with almost any character. As you climb you start seeing smaller and smaller movesets consisting of safe pokes/spam mixed with launch punishes. Game honestly gets more boring the higher you go in rank. Quick match isn't great because it ignores ranks and puts rank 30's vs rank 10's. There aren't very many lobbies and you gotta sit around waiting too much even if you get in one that is solid with comparable skilled players in it.
And obviously those who seek only quick cheap fun will fall off eventually. This is natural. If they don't want to go indepth they might just as well keep switching the games and have casual "fun" and everchanging experience each time.
However lets not forget one thing: Tekken is not only about "fun" in the vulgar sense. I would say that it is the more "appealing" the high rank you have. Maybe not necessarily "fun" but certainly the opposite of "boring".
The reason we can infer this is that people who wish to go indepth and get better tend to stick with the game for unusually long time. Tekken is notorious for having a dedicated playerbase after all. While of course those who come and go are the ones who want quick fun.
Steve and Neegan are my mains.
What about you?
Take a break from Tekken, and come back again with a fresh mind.
Games are digital entertainment products, nothing more.
Unless you want go competetive then get butt smashed lol
