Tekken Tag Tournament 3 Or tekken 8 ?

Some rumors about ps5 and T8 AND Tag Tournament 3 is that true ? is it still worth it to buy T7 in this period of time ?

Isn't the PS5 not coming out for a while?

I would think buying this version of a game (at a discount on top of it) isn't a bad idea. If anything, it will help you study up on characters early. Because honestly, not much changes from game to game. A character might have a few new moves or a slightly different juggle or whatever, but once you learn the older stuff and systems, it can help you in newer games (many call it legacy skill).

There are no official announcements or even proof that Tekken 8 or TTT3 is in the works. However, it was confirmed that there will be no new Namco fighting game this year. Plus, Tekken 7 just released a new Season last year, expect it to still last longer, and if we're lucky, we get another Season extending its lifespan. Several Tekkens in the past lasted long without post-launch support, it's safe to say that Tekken 7 is still worth picking up today. And if a Tekken 8 is announced next year, it'd probably take like 2 years in the arcades again before releasing to console.

T8 is likely. TTT games come after 3 main installments

TTT3 i guess is very unlikely sice TTT2 failed hard in sales and gameplay. They did great with T7 so logical wise T8 is more likley to be a thing.

I'd rather have Tekken x KOF, but if I really had to choose, I'd say Tag 3. It'd need Online Pair Play(not just local) vs the AI and other players, though. If not, I'd go with T8.

flawed logic... tag 2 flopped because it sucked not because it was a tag game

if they make tag 3 now it's gonna be different and it won't go down like tag 2

and tekken already lacks variety, this franchise needs a tag game...they tried to some changes with tekken 7 and it ended up being a dumbster fire

The tag games have never done as good as the main games, the logic holds.

Any changes they've made would either end up in tag3 or the game would be entirely different, since tekken 7 is doing good there would be no reason to change the game outside of adding to it so by your own logic tag 3 would be an even bigger "dumbster fire".

What variety does tekken lack???

this franchise needs tag 3 but they need to make it right this time...for one thing it's gonna be on PC so you know it's gonna have good graphics and good netcode, better than tag 2 already and literally the only reasons tekken 7 is doing well in the first place... all they gotta do is not ♥♥♥♥ up the gameplay mechanics

WRONG! There will be no TTT3 cause TTT2 didnt sold good. Not just because it was bad. Thats how companies work. It doesnt matter how good or bad, if it doesnt sell good its a no/no.

Change how grapples work. You cancle an enemys grapple ? The enemy then is -3-8 or so so it can be punished and is rewarding to cancle them. "my enemy block to much panic grapple spam"...

Would it be safe to say then that the next game (if ever) in your own opinion has to be different than Tekken 7 as well as Different from TT2? Because that is all I am getting from your conversation...?

I think others are right, if you have complaints with specific solutions we would like to hear them.

I would imagine changes to "rage", the "tag crash" system (where you could fly in from the top of the screen to sometimes safely tag out if you are in trouble) exploits and heavy team cheese with specific characters (hello b+2 from bruce and b+1,4 from eddy come to mind) and other metrics of the games could be adjusted.

But honestly this current game will probably continue until 2021 most likely. Our next tekken will probably be when the next gens fully launch and might even be console exclusive again possibly... (not sure).
