I find the P2P connection Tekken 7 use...
Apparently, the game uses a centralized P2P, which makes it all the players are on a single server (yes the game has only one server) and it requires to open the ports to be NAT type 1 or 2.In NAT type 3 it causes the crossed or gray connections, which results in communication error.

P2P Centralized = Only one Server and port forward, lags due to the connection of the players.

But if the game used a decentralized P2P, there will be no connection problem or nat type.

P2P Decentralized = No server, the host is the server

So what do you think ?

Sorry for the 69 posts

What is your NAT Type,1 ,2 ,3 ?
I have forwarded the ports specified in that site - https://portforward.com/tekken-7/
I think they call it NAT 2

You have a NAT 2 so you shouldn't have this issue.

You don't understand the issue. There is nothing to patch.

Tekken 7 has no game server, just a match server for letting players see who else is online. All it does is give you a list of IP addresses to try connecting to. After that, it is all peer to peer direct connection no more server. Gameplay is already decentralized. If you are on a Strict NAT(type3) you are screwed. Most players are unreachable to type 3. Even torrents don't work on type 3!

You cannot use NAT traversal for this game, that is centralization. It requires a proxy server and will add tons of ms to your ping both ways.

Do not DMZ, just forward the ports. Or use uPnP if you feel like being wide open.

If I understand,Tekken 7 uses both P2P (centralized and decentralized) but requierts port forward, ok.:)
