Development cost Tekken 7 vs Season Pass 2. Is season pass 2 way too expensive?

Right now, I can buy season pass 2 with the cost of I bought Tekken7 + season pass 1.

I don't believe developing 5 characters and outfits' development might cost more than core game and 36 previous fighters.

Recent Harada explanations say that season pass is paid because of to be able to support game longer. including bug fixes, balance fixes and new implementations.

Firstly, customer laws in many countries say that if you have defect on your product, you should either fix it or give money back for 2 to 5 years. So asking more money for bug fixes is not logical answer. You cannot ask more money for what you should do already.

Secondly, if we consider new characters, they are just assets + 3d models&animations&rigs + movesets added to core mechanics of game. Not only in game industry but in software development domain, if you finish the project and if you are at maintainence period, you reduce the number of developers, testers etc. I am pretty sure that the whole team who worked at tekken 7 is not working on paid dlcs as well. Maybe %10 of them or such.

Therefore, I see that season pass 2 is too expensive and NAMCO is seeing their customers as mindless people. Like we cannot understand this monkey business.

This is the way of things now, pretty much all games charge the £25 mark for a season pass. I personally don't mind, 6 extra characters and whatever other extra's we get in a game that I love and want to support is fine by me.

The first season pass was definitely lackluster though.......

Pay 20 bucks for tekken 7 and learn atleast 1 char there you go scrub you will be busy for hours.

I have over 600 hours in tekken and that makes it worth to just buy the dlc and cuase iam not starting a discussion for somethng i dont wanne buy if i dont have the money.

Charging for legacy characters that should have been already included. Way to go to scare off casual old timers like me. Why not only charge for new game modes and new characters? I would gladly supporit these. Is it the lack of creativity? Is that the reason why a season pass costs more than the actual game itself?
This is just an insane money grab for try hards and hardcore fans. Oh boy am I glad that I'm not one of them.

Plus, the DLC characters don't even have their own character story mode.

OP does make very valid points imo. The whole "you don't have to buy it" argument is just a red herring. OP isn't complaining that they're being forced to buy the season pass, they're complaining about the proportionality in price for the content in the season pass compared to the content in the base game + season pass (for the price they got it for)

You get still patches for tekken, name another beatem up that doesnt sell dlc chars like that and still gets updates and big ones XD

Tekken 7 is not perfect by any means but its a good game you have 36 chars you can learn to master or 1-2 chars ^^ hundrets of hours inc.

So i played 600 hours + and 25 € for 6 new chars arent bad on my end of view i paid more money for games that i didnt even played as long as tekken.

And the "then dont buy it" is totally legit. Youre complaining in RL too about stuff that arent important that they are too expensive compared to whatever ? XD <--- thats funny.

No they don't have to make from "scratch" since the concept and the design itself already exists. They don't wanna re-invent the wheel!
Also, making once in a time a small discount, would be probably much more profitable for them. No wonder that those season packs lack of game modes, they would just probably die-out by the end of a month anyway.

Also what's the deal with 20€? I bought this game at full price since release. So don't come with your cheap excuse like "you dunt hav muny", I don't ♥♥♥♥ at my moms ♥♥♥♥ for eternity. And yee, I don't see the point in spending 6€ for a concept and design that already exists. Hell with those 6€ I can either Tekken 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 on ebay. No with tekken 7, you get, one, single character.

Also, you can say that I'm "learning" to play tekken, but I play Tekken 7 for "fun"(Like I did since Tekken 3,4 and 5).
I precious that time because some of us, unfortunaly, don't have so much free time like you do. So please, don't compare my "fun" with your "learning", it's not like a school assignment xD

Man its a new engine, new mechanics, sure they know what anna was like but shes not like that in 6 or ttt2 so yeah they did a bit of work.

i bought it for 60€ too so what ? i bought the 2 dlc´s cause i wanted to support them cause thats the best beat em up on pc...

The price of the content now is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is; OP got Tekken 7+ Season Pass 1 for the same price that the Season Pass 2 is as of current alone. So we have the basis for comparison. Be as dismissive as you like, all OP is saying that there's something peculiar about the fact that people think that ALL the content in Season 1 and the base game is equal to the 6 characters and customisation (possibly some stages too?) in the Season Pass 2.
It's simple arithmetic; if you take the number of Characters that OP got for the price of Season Pass 2, let's say it''s 30 Euros in this case and divide the price by the number of characters;
30/38, that's 0.79 euros per character.
Now, let's do the same for Season pass 2;
30/6 = 5 euros per character.

As you can see, 5 is a bigger number than 0.79 so OP is unhappy at the fact that he'd have to pay much more per character for the content than he did for the entirety of the game + Season Pass 1, and that's not even taking into account the other content in the game/Season Pass 1

Tekken is not a Beat-em-up, it's a fighting game. Tekken 6 removed the longstanding beat-em-up mode that other games had; Tekken Force/Devil Within/Scenario Mode.

That's your opinion, Tekken 7 is a good game but not everyone wants to play it competitively, to say it's a good game in terms of a casual audience is laughable. There practically is no single player content worth talking about; the casual audience is also a big part of what makes fighting games so profitable
