How is the online mode for noobs?
I'm not planning on getting good at the game since it seems to take a lot of time, but I still enjoy playing Tekken. I remember playing Tekken online on PS3 and constantly matched with people who could knock me up and kill me before I could even move. I just want to casually play the game.

If you enjoyed previous versions of the game, this entry into the series is arguably the most balanced and very fun. Play offline with friends (Couch CO-OP) or single player with treasure battle. Online works fairly well for most, but if you dont like being juggled or beat up like you mentioned in OP, I would suggest staying out of both "Player Match" and "Ranked" unfortunately.

I might pick it up then, but does offline ranks exist in this game?

You hold two different ranks at all times. An online rank and an Offline rank. so you can play treasure battle and rank up offline. However, you will never get to increase your online rank that way.

So it's the same system as with tekken 6 and tag tournament. That's great, I will buy this game.

I find PC Tekken players to be pretty good. I remember in Tekken 6 on xbox 360 it was usually easy to win online, but in Tekken 7 on Steam that's not the case. Even the lowest-ranking players provide a challenge and I find myself losing quite often.

... Couch Co-op? What are you talking about?

the most fun you get out of this game will be the "aha! I learned that!" moments when playing vs humans. It only seems difficult/unfun at the beginning because you look up a huge mountain of ♥♥♥♥ to learn.
Instead focus on one thing at a time, buttonmash at first then deliberately use 3-4moves and so on. eventually practice movement for 20-30minutes and after some months you will get much better in all fighting games since the skills translate in the entire genre.
