She is super strong. Her launcer f+2 is the best punish move in the game, unlike gigas lame 1,2.
Whenever under pressure, just use the b+4,d+4,f+4 or the 1+2, you can get a full dombo...i usually use the b+1+2 grab to pressure... then go for 1+4 mixups.

Id say d2 is VERY similar to jackhammer in many respects (not quite as broken though).
Dont get me wrong it is good idea to consult your opinion with more experienced players but if you just picked it up it feels like going through singleplayer game with walktrough from the beginning and not even trying to resolve puzzles yourselve.
She isnt a high risk character so its easy to learn, most of her moves are safe and cancellable, she is easy to use and easy to learn. Formulating a gameplan comes afterwards which is the fun part anyway because that requires intelligence and skill, some characters you cant even have a game plan, mostly characters that is high risk and high reward, and some high risk and low reward. Asuka is a very low risk character and high reward.
