Can't seem to play with friends
Ok, this is the first time i ever posted in a steam forum FYI (rip)

So here's my situation:

I used to be able to play with friends (before the geese patch) but then after that. I can't seem to play with them on a lobby. (but rank matches and player matches still work like a charm.)

NOTE: my friends and I live in the same country and use the same ISP with an exceptionally decent internet.

I looked into the forums (problems since last year 2017) and those solutions didn't work at all for me, so I just decided to make another thread regarding this for more solutions.

sad that I just wanted to play with friends a nice game of Tekken to practice.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I had the same problem. All I did was reinstalling tekken and it worked fine again.

Well, I have 2 hardwares where I have tekken 7.

My PC (the one i'm having problem with)

&

My Laptop (also having the same problem)

thing is, I recently downloaded Tekken 7 on the laptop and it had the same problem like my PC does. (The can't play with friends part)

sooo technically it didn't work, thanks anyway. Hopefully solutions will come soon :(

Maybe your friend should reinstall Tekken ? (not you)
You should try to match with other friends, you will see if the issue is coming from you or not.

I also had problems with this in past - the patches (or something else - Im not sure) make it dissapear.

In past I had to reboot router and pc sometimes to make it work. It was something my router did wrong.

Also if you are in lobby try to wait a while until the bars on the connection indicator appear. It sometimes take a little while for me.

I already did this sadly.

i actually tried to wait for 3-5 minutes to see if it pops up, but nope I only saw the bar with a slash on it. Not even a bar showed up

I think my router caused problems when someone connected with phone or some other device through wifi.

My method was reboot router the HW way (pull the plug and wait a few sec), reboot it SW (just restart it in app, then reboot PC. Then it always worked - if I missed just one step it was not ok.

If this method doesnt work for you then I dont know... (of course you should forward your ports but Im sure you did this)

the usual checklist:
steam ->settings ->downloads->download region
antivirus /firewall isnt interfering, especially after patch
router has correct ports forwarded: https://portforward.com/tekken-7/
some say running steam as administrator helped them

UPDATE: Tested different friends in a lobby

The first 2 friends got the same problem as I said in this post.

The next 2 friends played with me just fine.
(one uses the same ISP as me, one uses a different one)

NOTE: Again all of my friends live in the same country as me.

Which brings me to my next question on why doesn't it work on the 1st 2 friends I played with
EVEN after I did all the above solutions, but still play fine with my other 2 friends.

Well, have those other 2 friends done the same things? Maybe it is also a problem on their end.

Make sure you trust the person you give a VPN access to, he for example should be able to find your wifi password and probably more.
