Old Tekken games I wanna try.
Tekken 7 is my first fighting game to play more than 100 hours and I wanted to know which old tekken games should I try since I have a PS1 to PS4 since I never played the old titles.

Thanks.

Tekken 3.

No contest, imo.
Tekken 3 is still the best

Tekken 3 without competition

Tekken 5 / Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. Tekken 3 is not as good at all, it's all just nostalgia. You could also try Tekken Tag Tournament 2 to check out their tag formula. Avoid 1, 2 and 4.

Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag were the best, IMO. Although I played them as a child, so I can't speak as to how well the fighting holds up.

The story and characters kick ass though. :Neko:

None. It has no use. Tekken 7 is the most recent tournament game and we ain't goin' back.

But some of the older games will allow him to check out the legacy characters that everyone (but me) want so badly.

which is weird, considering people still compete at Street Fighter 2, Melee, Herritage for the Future, Soul Calibur 2, ect. Why not play older Tekken games too?

What's the use? You'll only start missing them and get used to moves and juggles that won't work anymore. My advice is to just don't. But sure, everyone should do whatever the hell they want to!

People still compete at Street Fighter 2? Sure! All ten of them! The points is that the games aren't recent and have no viable tournament scene. Getting used to old characters and mechanics has no use in that regard.

But again, if you just wanna have some fun, sure, go for it!

Curiosity and/or fun. Tekken hasn't changed all that much, but with other games like, say, Street Fighter, some people have more fun with X or Y iteration. Tournaments are not everything.

Tekken Tag 2 for the most complex juggle system of all Tekkens. If you learn to do tag juggles Tekken 7's juggles look like a breeze in comparison, I find them too simplistic now..
