This exact thing happens to me all the time and restarting has always worked. Nothing else has fixed it so far :(
I updated my nvidia drivers (via gforce experience) and everytime I'm playing I'm unactivate my antivirus (Avast) untill the next reboot.
I'm fine now :)

Didn't help it still crashes
Finally I got it to work.
After previous step I downloaded steam again. Installed it to C: disk. In steam I specified steam folder(and copied all files from old steam folder/steamapps to this folder). It didn't work(the same).
After that I found article in web and checked my driver version. To do so I used in windows 10 Run(Window+R) and typed 'dxdiag'. THen in Display tab I found out that driver version was of 2017 year. On Nvidia site I didn't get the latest driver, instead I downloaded 391.35-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe Installed it and reboot PC. After that things finally got to work! Though I lost all my local data(rank, saves, settings for Tekken 7 but that's due to Windows reset in previous steps).
Your mistake was not to use geforce experience, if you use it AND always update your Nvidia drivers with that APP then you'll ALWAYS have the last version.
Look what I posted to you a few days ago: "I updated my nvidia drivers (via gforce experience) and..."
Every 2-3 weeks gforce experience installs new nvidia drivers.
That should be pinted:
DONT UPGRADE YOUR NVIDIA DRIVERS YOURSELF BUT USE GFORCE EXPERIENCE TO UPGRADE
