Is there much of an advantage of doing so?
Exactly this. It's the best form of anti-aliasing, 100% accurate most of the time and also does transparency anti-aliasing. It looks absolutely gorgeous, but is extremely demanding. With 200% resolution scaling at 1920x1080, you're effectively running the game at 4K resolution (200% X and 200% Y = 3840x2160 = 4 times the resolution).
EDIT: Downscaling to 1920x1080 resolution by using nVIDIA DSR 4.00 gives the same effect and is just as demanding. You're effectively running the game at 4K on a 1920x1080 screen.
It's just GPU intensive, right? Wonder what percentage my 1070 can handle
It's GPU intensive, yes. It doesn't really tax your CPU.
Your 1070 is roughly comparable to my 980Ti OC Gamer Edition. You can run the game at 150% scaling but you will probably have to put texture detail on high instead of on ultra, or else you will definitely have frame dips when playing Kuma vs. Kuma.
Moving blocks stage? On my system, Duomo di Sirio is, performance wise, the heaviest hitting stage. I test with Kuma vs. Kuma, no costume, fully furred, rage arts. I use Kuma's rage art with the Kuma on the left side of the screen after bumping into to the other Kuma and sidestepping left (up) once. This is the heavest hitter. I thought I was fine at 160% but when I tested it like this, I had to lower scaling to 150%.
Maybe later I will find a scenario that tanks the fps even more. I'll let you guys know.
So you are saying that the texture quality settings in the ini don't include the lines for disabling the fur? Am I understanding that right? Hmmm, that's annoying. So that means that the texture detail setting in the game itself does MORE than simply adjusting the texture quality settings in the ini?
Do I download more RAM?
