Why all the hate against Geese?

First of all, I NEVER PLAYED ANY TEKKEN GAME AT ALL.
Im going to buy this game soon (i really hope so). After watching some EVO matches, ive noticed people get salty about Geese very often. As an SNK player, the image i built from Geese after playing a lot of Fatal Fury and KOF games, is that hes a character that punishes you for being too predictable (no puns intended). Hes usually a well rounded character, being mid-high or high tier on most games.
So why all the hate around this character?

People don't like geese and 2d characters because they introduce mechanics that are normal in 2d games but unorthodox in tekken. They probably can't deal with his playstyle because it is completely different to what they are used to.

I never really said anything against Geese or other 2D chars but... yeah I don't like 2D FGs and I'd like Tekken to keep as far from them as possible.

This. I generally dislike the mechanics of 2D fighting games, so their presense in Tekken annoys me for that reason.

i love Geese in fact he is the only dlc character i bought ^^. however i cant stand eliza and akuma and all the other 2d characters. they can link or low fast light kick in something really damaging if they used "meter".

I don't think it's so much him being from a 2D game coz he transitions into 3D pretty well but more how he is really OP, so much so that he was even nerfed this season, and still is really popular and high ranking in the pro scene. He's easily top-tier, S-tier.

Eliza sucks compared to Geese and she is a lot more 2D even in Tekken, Akuma I think is much stronger, but you don't see him as much, I think playing him feels counter intuitive a lot of the time in Tekken so you don't see as many of them even though they can be just as lethal.

2-D characters play really well and better than the games they originally came from. Since I've played lots of 2-D games along with tekken I actually like the new changes they did with them.

People tend to forget akuma got nerfed so many times since his debut in the arcade tekken 7. Geese just got nerfed since his debut (nerfed his meter gain) and recently too. People also don't know what an anti-air is either so 2-D characters just jump on people who have never played any other fighter other than tekken.

So they don't like change and prefer the same old format instead of learning on how to beat 2-D characters and know what their strengths and weaknesses are.

Well, thats bad. Hope the Tekken community isnt toxic. My favorite fighting game is King of Fighters, and the player base is toxic as sh*t. I really hope i wont find too many people complaining about who i pick to play, or even the way i play.

Oh trust me I thought the tekken 7 community would be smarter and less whiny but honestly I think they're even worse players than sf5 players are and thats saying something. (Nerf this character, remove this character, remove juggles, remove frame data, remove grabs, my character is trash, matchup knowledge is stupid I'd rather just lose and complain all day)
