Character DLC's don't have story chapters
So, does that mean they'll cover the events in Tekken 7 for these DLC Characters in Tekken 8 or their appearance is non-canon and they'll continue where they left off after Tekken 6 in the next game?

I think they just dropped the story element from the Tekken series... Was there even an actual tournament in the 7 history?
I hope they make extended story mode, like Claudio and Xiaoyu story from tekken patinko

Even the trailer states that Zafina is not part of the tekken 7 story canon

It doesn't say that, it just states she doesn't appear in story mode. That's something we already know though...

She, and all other legacy characters have official Tekken 7 bios but they don't appear in Story because Bandai Namco are lazy/don't care.

Hence why I'm wondering where they'll take the stories of these characters in the next one

Good decision imo, who cares about story mode, I don’t play fighting games for their lore or writing.

Doesn't appear in story mode basically means there is no part for them in this games story so it's pretty much the same thing.

It would have been funny if they've made a chapter for Lei where he fights Luchy Chloe.

And after that he would have a successful dance with her.(In contrast to Eddy.)

Not really, we know for a fact that Anna, for instance has a direct involvement with Nina in the story. And we saw Lei and Lucky Chloe dance together in the trailer xD
singleplayer took a large ♥♥♥♥ this tekken tbh. they went full competitive and dlc milking on this one. so as hard as it may sound, don't expect bandai namco to change this since they haven't bothered for 3 full seasons of tekken 7 already.

the current business model since tekken 7 follows the 80/20 rule where 80% of your income comes from the 20% top regular customers of your business. and hence they also cater to them. these customers for tekken are the veterans who wish to play competitively every game, and every game season. and this is what you get.

Maybe Bamco plan for finalized season, if all season pass releases are complete, means EP2 will happen.

Whaddya mean? This thread is simply a discussion thread, it's not a complaint. I'm trying to foster some discussion on what Bandai Namco will do with the story.

We know that there isn't story for DLC characters in this one (which is fine; plenty of fighting games do that), but, what about the next game? Will they pretend the bios for DLC characters didn't happen, and continue from Tekken 6 or recap the story (explained in their bios) and continue from there? Tons of possibilities, no?

The tekken story is so convoluted, sparse in important areas, and kinda stupid now... ...with canon and non-canon games all confusing players... t needs to just reboot or something. I honestly would like a completely new story
