D3D Device Lost 3 times in a row?
I've had Tekken 7 since release and maybe only got this problem once in the years but just today its done it 3 times when loading an online match?

I put it back on and left it on character customization with chosen character just to see if it would happen as I was doing housework but its only happening Online matches.

It didn't do it this morning and I was on for at least 15mins.

Is this because of the latest update maybe?

graphics? By that I mean graphics card, settings, etc.

It very well may be the update. But having D3D errors usually means failing hardware.

See here for some help with it. Or atleast, where you can start to figure it out.

Everything on max on 4K plus Res Scale 200 have the system to handle it. Its a 2080.

I actually tried the Spyro Remake as it uses Unreal Engine and no problem. Also managed to have 3 - 4 matches online and no problem so unless it was just a hiccup.

Might have another few matches just to see if it still works fine.

Might also fire up Shadow of TR as its more demanding than T7. Im hoping its just the game or some Windows/Nvidia update conflict

This is a really old bug. If you're on an nVIDIA card, please try switching from (borderless) windowed mode to fullscreen mode, or the other way around. If you're on AMD, you could try updating or rolling back drivers. This is a known problem with AMD and UE4 and there used to be really large threads about it on the AMD and UE4 forums, I don't know if they still exist, but there are more UE4 games with this problem.

Also, the in-game resolution scaling setting doesn't work, it has been broken ever since the game came out. What you can do to fix this: open the file "Engine.ini", located somewhere in "C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\TekkenGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" (I'm on Windows 7), and add these lines (you can set r.ScreenPercentage to whatever you want, 150 is what I use):

[ConsoleVariables]
r.ScreenPercentage=150

several possibilities, 2 examples:
1.resolution scaler didn't work properly at least last year. Put it back 100. You'll have native resolution. If 4k works without d3d drops. Issue is the resolution scaler.
2.If 4k hangs like 8k, gpu might have unstable overclock.

I have the exact same problem since season 3 came out. D3D Device being lost + nvidia driver crash randomly during match. Other games works just fine.
I mean wtf... every single time we had an update in T7 we had problems to fix and ♥♥♥♥ to deal with... I'm kinda tired of this broken piece of software.

Hmmm. My specs are:

- Windows 7 Pro
- 16GB 2400MHz RAM
- Intel Core i7 5930K @3.5GHz (4GHz Turbo)
- nVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti OC Gamer Edition

I've had some stutter related issues in the past, which were caused by certain USB devices, and I also had the D3D crashing issues when I was still running the game in windowed mode (both borderless and bordered). But other than that, Tekken 7 has been extremely stable for me in fullscreen mode. I have 600+ hours of game time without any crashes or driver related issues. Everything is on the highest possible setting (1920x1080), except for the textures (high) so that I can run the game at 150% resolution scaling (effective resolution of 3k), even when bear vs. bear.

I did 300+ hours before season 3 without a crash. Now I'm crashing everytime... And it must be an UE4 related problem because it seems that I'm experiencing major crashes only on that engine.

I agree with this one. After all these years, UE4 still doesn't seem to be completely stable in a couple of cases.
I've played 2 hours of it today and no problem but judging by others responses this does seem engine related. I dont recall this happening to me in the past though. Only when this recent update went live
I had this happen since first week of the game launch. If you search "D3D error Tekken 7" you will see that probably 70% of these topics since 2017 were started by me.

I can only say that I tried everything and nothing worked. S1 was the worst with crashes (every hour like on the clock) which forced me to play pretty much lobbies and quick only.
S2 it went away for the most part (crash 3 times a week).

S3 is back at it again closing my game with no errors, literally just closed no error log nothing. So we are back to square one, I kinda already accepted it never going to get fixed which helps me take game less seriously

I just had a 2 hours session without crash as well... It's so random, I literally have no idea what this is all about.

If you operate on NVIDIA, open NVIDIA Control Panel & set it to "Performance" instead of "Quality."

I already have it set on that plus most of it is overclocked anyways. PC handles it at 60 at 4K no problem apart from certain character close up's where frames may drop a bit.

It seems fine anyways. I think its sorted itself out or at least for now. I know it seems like a common problem now but when I got it 3 times in a row it just raised an eyebrow.

Every system is slightly different though. Guess we should just put up and watch for now. I think the worst I had for CTD's was DOOM (2016) though. Nothing crashed as much as that to the point I stopped playing it for over a year just for more updates/patches to come out
Yeah just tried it again and got a D3D error whilst starting a match. Then 2nd time actually got a full on system crash had to power off. It cant be my GPU though its less than a year old and if it was dying it would be artifacting on every game wouldn't it?

Dont know why but have a funny feeling its tied to Nvidia ShadowPlay and Steam Overlay...Just a hunch really
