Season Pass 3 - too early to buy yet?
Is the only thing unlocked so far the 1 new character?

And is it true this pass will only have 3 characters, instead of 6 like last season?

everything contained in season pass is on the page for season pass, including the # of characters https://store.steampowered.com/app/1114550/TEKKEN_7__Season_Pass_3/

Well that's disappointing for the roster. I hope the additional game mode is something nice at least.
Kuriishi Sep 10, 2019 @ 11:09pm
No, 1 Character is available and there are 3 more to come. So that's a total of 4 additional characters. There's also a new "feature" as well as a new stage coming too. Oh, and there's a player customisation/character accessory set in it too

Personally, with the dearth of info on it I think it's too early to make a decision whether it is worth that price

For me its too early to buy. I have no interest in Zafina.

For me in most cases the Whole Season Passes where not worth. I prefer to buy the charakter Solo as i dont need them all. Ill again wait and see what those charakter are. Right now we only know 2 of them. Its weird that they announce ONE extra Stage as an DLC because usaly we got a Guesst charakter which had a extra stage on its own (thus costing abit more then normal Tekken DLC Char).

I did buy the season 3 pass, because i really like Zafina, but also because to support their efforts for season 3. New moves, a lot of balacing fixes, more presets which will make the tournaments even more hype, overall great changes and even more to come. It would be pretty disappointing if the developers would be forced to prioritize the next game, instead of keep supporting the current one, just because the company behind them doesn't see any any results = money. :/

Anything you are getting for 'free' is funded by the prior season pass money.

I waited years for Zafina, I'm very biased here.
But I remember being in high school and playing Tk5 on PSP during car rides.
Zafina alone made Tekken the best and only Fighting game I enjoy.
She was the first character I took to Tekken God too, just insane fun to play and mastering her puts you on par with any Tekken character.
@kensei but by buying their season passes, you are also promoting their expensive business model. they will keep charging you more than half the game price for a couple of characters and a stage. that is absolutely ridiculous. having the fanbase purchase them en masse just confirms Bandai Namco's theory that the western model on DLC's will work on their players. so that they can put out prices that are not proportionate to the content they offer.

the base game has 36 characters and 23 stages. it costed 60$ on release date, and has now been on 40$ for awhile now. one season pass will cost you 25$. the 2nd season is even 30$ for some reason. that means you're genuinely paying 75% of the base game value for 3-4 characters and a stage. every season pass. and i know for sure that lots of more passes are planned for this game, now that they know that this model sells infinitely better than anything else they've ever tried.

most games have 1 season pass for ALL dlcs. and any decent game will also price their dlcs appropiately according to the quantity and quality of their content. Bandai Namco is not doing that since tekken 7. but as long as tekken fanatics and pro gamers keep feeding it, it will continue. 20% of your top customers theoretically make up 80% of your income after all. (also pro gamers are forced to do so, as they can't practice against dlc characters in practice mode to learn for competitions.)

If you're not hyped by Leroy Smith or Zafina then better hold up your money. Those two are the only confirmed items in the season 3 pass.

I got it because I like Zafina, there is a 13% off in greenmangaming so I bought it there, and got the SP1 while I was at it.. now I have every DLC so finally can lab all chars, if I ever decide to do so..

Most games release a few patches to correct bugs after release and that's it. You're also paying for continued support, It brings back life to a game that is already a few years old.
Also fighting games aren't the most popular so that bussiness model might not be so bad, other games like Europa Universalis also do that, because their audience is limited but it's also very enthusiastic about the game.

may i remind you that bandai namco did not feel the need to do this till tekken 7? 7 damn games. nevertheless, continued support and content in exchange for money is great. but only if the price matches up to the content.

its really clear that the devs are confining their dlc experiments to cater mostly towards the serious part of the tekken fanbase. because the unbalance of the prices vs the content, and the lack of free lab dlc characters shows what their aim is. tekken is one of the main fighting games for console. it doesn't need a few million buyers to pay 30$ for multiple gaming seasons just to keep it in the green.

lmao, that's misleading. DLC was only a thing from around the time of Tekken 6 onwards, so it's more fair to say 3 games (Tekken 6, Tag 2, Tekken 7).

This part is true, but they'll keep doing it coz it's profitable and people don't really care so much anymore

ttt2 and t7 respectively. i haven't seen a dlc pop up for my t6 at any point in the store.
as for the latter, i find it sad personally. and i personally expect them to keep the practices up.

I just hope that the community will rise up like the communities of EA and bethesda, the longer they pull similiar stuff on us. since there's little reason to doubt that they would continue such a profitable practice. and atleast in comparison, Bandai namco isn't a name as big as them to afford ignoring that for long. so they ought to return to their roots at some point to keep the raw playerbase. but that's just my hope.
