Reached Fighter with 32 wins
His mids are rangy and overall TOP tier so its hard to just approach and attack Claudio but if I actually want to make something happen while opponent is waiting I feel kind of helpless.
The only things claudio can do against turtling opponent are a throw or SS4 low which doesnt highcrush, doesnt KND and is pretty slow. (db3 is just too slow and its suicide against good players).
2) It took him way over hundred of games to get to genbu with Claudio - it took him HALF of that to get to genbu with Steve (if I remember correctly). How braindead do you think Steve is?
It doesn't mean a lot that a youtuber making a living off playing Tekken is doing well with a character.
As I mentioned earlier for example I struggle with Claudio. Its pretty easy to beat agressive opponents with the hopkick and other super solid mids but careful opponents are a problem.
Anyway. As I said - good for TMM to have another one of many others in red ranks...
I'm sure JDCR is also great with Claudio.
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to affect my gameplay :)
What is your rank with Claudio?
A blocked WR2 gives mix ups as it's +7 on block. Follow ups include:
4,3 or df2 if you are certain your opponent is gonna mash.
df3 is a safe mid option to throw out which can not be interrupted or stepped. You can also easily hit confirm df3 into df3,1 for good damage.
SS4 and d3 for the low options if your opponent turtles up.
iWR2, uf2 (+9 on block), f4 (+2~+3 on block) are other moves to consider for pressure and plus frames if your opponent turtles.
uf2 is pretty dirty at the wall as it wallsplats and is +9 on block. But it's has bad range and pushback on block, so it's best to use it when your opponent has their back to the wall. uf2 into b1 is uninterruptable and can not be stepped, (similar to Wang's SS1+2 into f3). So once your opponent respects this you can go for SS4 which gives plus frames on hit.
I do try to utilize most of you mentioned. But I totally underused the pressure tools!
fff2, uf3 and f4.
Thanks for the uf2 trick. I didn't use the move since it looked too slow and short ranged but it does work when I make opponent fear my f3/uf4.
I also dont use the df3,1 string at all. It can be SSL though but still with b4,2 its a must-use.
Also the d3 have proven to be WAY better than I expected. It looked dangerous and unrewarding but its solid.
the SS4 still gives me trouble but I use it after frametraps or on jab hit or when I see that opponent waits for my mid.
Im just gonna call bs on this real quick, SWE dropped steve in Tekken 5, he played Steve in TAG 1, not TT2.
But you are absolutely correct. I will do so when I see that opp is not trying to mash his way into my defence.
genbu incoming ;)
