Then again anime is japanese animation, and Tekken is a japanese game and has animations.
People turn into demons, pandas wear hats and juggle people. Now people are starting to use energy blasts... Not to mention everyone in the Mishima bloodline being a stereotypical anime character.
I think we might be playing anime. Maybe borderline anime. It has everything that anime has except for those big eyes.

Anyone who claims otherwise is in denial.
In terms of gameplay, Tekken is definitely not an anime game, those games play completely different and have tons of metres etc.. The artstyle in Tekken may be slightly influenced by them in some areas but there's not enough weight to say that it is an anime game.
Also, Steam tags aren't always the most accurate. I've seen many cutesy games tagged as psychological horror
