Possible to play a good King as a pad player?

Having trouble with the harder chain throws because of the close proximity of the buttons. I know this is a very pad friendly/viable game, but if there is one character that seems like it would be way easier with a stick, it would be King (and I guess Nina for the same reason).

Been a pad player and don't plan on making the switch. Should I hang up King or are there any pad players out there that can do his hard chains consistently?

P.S.: I have pretty thin fingers. I couldn't imagine pulling these throws off with thick man-hands.

There was this one guy who won the world championship with a ps1 pad... but don't think it was King. Avoidingthepuddle explained how to do king grabs and other stuff that's only rly possible on sticks. He tought people how the button buffering works which makes nearly every king grab very easy.

I guess a stick should be the go to.

use the triggers and shoulder buttons for combo buttons and use button buffering. also chaingrabs arent the core of kings gameplay, learn fundamentals, spacing basic combos + counter hit combos and your power crush

Map ALL your buttons with shortcuts, use them to your advantage
And learn buffering
Doing stuff like RDC is piss easy on pad

Pad players can play anyone, same for stick... I use both. Arcade stick is mostly popular with Mishima players because of the hcf motions in ewgf and dashing. Can still do it all on PAD but your thumb might catch on fire..

I dropped King because I couldn't do the 3 button presses consistently. Kept dropping command chains. I can do it on a arcade stick, but my movement sucks on a stick.

yes i've mained king on pad since t2/t3 days. you can do all of his stuff on pad without issues if you practice (and understand buffers.) i have mapped my RT/RB etc. buttons to stuff like 1+4, of course.
