Nothing new here
You must be
Because you relate whiff punishing to running away even though its a legit strat lol
as the guy above said..people want fun..when they dont get it out of a match they seek a other opponent. in his case it seems people have issue with the runaway/def aspect.
If you can't overcome that strategy then its your own fault nothing more, you people who quit because you want "fun" are really just salty because you got beat by a smarter strat than smashing buttons.
Its all good though if you want to dodge players because of your own faults be my guest but you only improve if you face these things head on and eventually you will perservere (then you will start having more fun).
This applies to you too OP - when someone comes along and smashes your ass in to pieces, don't quit and to try and learn and adapt.
Exactly, I wish more players had this mindset.
dont act as if i quit on him because he played defensive...he is from the us i did not played with him once. and yes being defensive is of course a valid strategy. same as running away.
again...no one said anything about that but thats most likely the reason why some people dont want to rematch. and yes its theire fault when they get beaten that way...its a fighting game. its always your fault when you lose a match....beside of maybe some ingame glitches.
What I wanted to say is, even tho I've played Tekken since like '96 (not actively ofc) and spent good 2 years playing Tekken 5 with friends rather actively, I don't really like this "Korean Backdash" thing.
It makes the game feel like a chore, it takes away from the beautiful move diversity and makes it very tense and "tryhard" when it should feel more like fun.
Sure, I'm all about competition, I love winning, but to me, those backdashes feel like an abuse, an animation cancel that the developers never figured out how to remove so they left it there and acknowledged it as a feature (kind of like every other animation cancel in every other competitive game).
It makes it so that you're only focused on that one thing, that one moment when you evade, counter and juggle "infinitely" until your enemy HP is drained, rather than sparring and actually brawling with the opponent.
Suffice to say after this, I understand why people don't want to play with you. I would not either, sorry :/
Also regarding your comment about juggles, you're not really someone who should play online at all competively. If that's your choice then that makes sense, but it seens unfair to me that you wouldn't want to play with someone just because they do something you can't do or don't like. Learning how to beat something, or at least holding your ground, would actually be quite satisfying.
This is just my opinion of course - I can't make you like it.
