It's recommended settings. They don't test on 500+ machines for compatibility, in most cases recommended settings give you an optimal experience with optimal graphical settings and framerate. You could just OC a 970 to get similar performance as reference 1060, it's not that much to ask.

BTW, if you run games just fine on 960, try Titanfall 2, Witcher 3 or The Division on max, we'll see what you're going to say after that.

I saw the game live on PS4 and it looks great even for such an outdated hardware, there is a huge chance PC graphics will turn out to be even better than that. It's Unreal Engine 4 after all.

Exactly my reaction. 1060 or higher? LOL

Look at the first pinned topic and read the announcement.

the PC specs are live on the page! Be careful though: recommended specs are not final yet.

Wasn't that hard, eh?

Sorry didn't see it, my bad! Thanks for pointing it out ;)

I'm actually more worried of minimal gtx 660 (my video card). So... No good graphics for me? lol

I reduced settings for W3 on my i5 6400 and 1060 to get from 50fos avg on max to stable 60 everywhere outside of Novigrad, but that's just my personal preference. In fighting games, there is no such thing as 'personal preference', you either have 60fps and can react to things or have below that and [you] are always at a disadvantage.

What's my point ? In Tekken 7, you will want to hold rock stable 60fps. Even drops to 58fps are noticable in fighting games and can negatively affect your experience. In most games (competetive shooters aside or shooters in general), dropping below 60 does not hinder your experience or winning chances vs other players as much as in fighting games, where often you may have less than 10 frames (1/6th of a second) to react.

That's why recommended settings are so high - to ensure rock stable experience at recommended graphics settings at (probably, as developer did not seem to specify the target resolution) 1080p. There may also be a suspicion that they did not finish the PC port yet and they may still have some performance optimisations done here and there, so the recommended section may go even lower than it is now (I really hope CPU will go lower, my i5 6400 seems to be just barely below recommended sysreqs, but that's just me).

Let's be honest here - Unreal Engine is very tweakable unless developer locks the possible modifications for the game (hello there MKX). I could run many games on my old laptop with Geforce 630m (yes, mobile 630 which is even worse than desktop 630) at reduced settings with games that had geforce 460 or similar in minimum requirements. The 660 there seems to be related to what you can tinker with in-game video settings and should grant you 60fps with at least 720p. Sure, the visuals will be reduced, but I believe they (devs) know what they are doing and this may not affect your competetive experience in this game. I really hope that they know what they're doing, I loved Tekken 6 and finally seeing this game on PC makes me want to throw money at the screen for preorder.

Huh hadn't thought about that, thanks for pointing it out.

Would would you reckon my i7 2600 would handle this? Right he's my main bottleneck but if i'm to replace it might as well get a new rig haha.

According to cpu benchmarks and a fact that i3-4160 is a min spec cpu for Tekken 7, it should be possible. Especially that games nowadays are optimized for 2+ cores and that's where i7 2600 beats i3 4160. Plus, Unreal Engine 4 can make a ton of use out of multiple cores. So, I'm not 200% sure, but statistically speaking, yes. It should.

What is really needed is a 1080p/ 1440p/ 4k recommended specs sheet. A 1080 will play this in 4k according to Namco. I have two 1080s (UE4 only uses one) so I'll see how it fairs out om both 3k/4k monitiors.

lord almighty, i only play 1080p that's how "tiny" my monitor is (at least according to whatever the ♥♥♥♥ is going on right now xD)

Exactly
Check this out: https://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/tekken-7-pc-geforce-gtx-1060-1080-ti-recommended

The article says that a 1060 gives you a stable 60FPS at max settings at both 1080p and 1440p.

Someone in the comments even said that they get 60FPS at almost ultra 560 Ti.

I'm just glad I have a 1060, but I think you should be fine even with a 960 :P
I have stable 60 frames with a GTX 980 Ti.

same here on ultra with a 960 4gb vram
960 user here as well, 2gb version tho. But, we (960 users) should really be looking into the future. :(
