About VS CPU.
I like this mode as much as I'm sure others do.

Come back after a boring or maybe a hard day at work, school, college etc.
Don't feel like going against players because you just want to relax.

Is there going to be a simple VS CPU mode? I've played a few fighers in my time yet some of them seem to not have a basic Player VS CPU mode in. A single match against the AI.

In Tekken Tag 2, I didn't really enjoy Ghost Mode. As I got better ranked, it got to the point where I got Miguel and Steve Fox so high that I couldn't even win against the AI anymore as those characters. Arcade got boring. Team Battle I thought was alright but it dragged on.

I hope we get the basic core feature any fighting game should have and that is Player VS CPU in a single match.

I reckon it will be in it though. A few fighting games recently have had it. I'm just unsure becasue some fighting games seem to just not have the simple feature at all.

Well I imagine most likely there will be.

They did say they watched what happened with SFV so well. ;)

The problem with CPU is that it's either too easy (Tekken) or too hard (DOA). Because it's a computer it has to either pretend to be fighting but in reality is just following a script of moves and barely adapting to you OR it actually cheats by reacting with the speed of a computer against your inputs and knows that you pressed a certain button the exact moment you press it. It knows the moves is coming before the animation even starts.

If you go into practice mode and turn Auto Block All on the CPU side and try to land a hit on it, that's exactly how perfectly a computer can defend against a human. It's insanity. And trying to add 'flaws' in that to make the computer beatable, at least in fighting games, either puts too many holes in it so it's useless or it's not enough and you just feel like it's still cheating.

We'll have to wait and see!

I reckon Team Battle will be back though.

I agree. I reckon the first set of ??? is team battle and the second set is whatever the unique season pass mode is, most likely ball or bowling

I'd actually say that DOA's ai is a bit more fair. Tekken has a track record of just making AI do more damage or have randomly unblockable strings in otherwise player-blockable combos. The input reading is REALLY apparant in games like tekken 6. (The PSP version's hit detection is so bad that I've lost fights to WHIFFING attacks that somehow hit) but on DOA, you can technically counter every single strike the AI throws at you if you know the combos, even mid-being-hit.

Personally, I'd like to see tekken move away from the "One hit = 75% of your HP" gameplay and be a little more like DOA in that countering attacks mid combo would be really nice. Or at least lowering the damage each combo does or lowering the chain lengths. I know long combos are a staple, but It's really insane when you just one-shot someone and they can't do anything about it once the beatdown starts. A two frame mistake shouldn't be the end of the round in a fighting game =/

Arcade has an arcade mode, so of course there will be. this isn't capcom.

Ahhhh what? Most max damage combos in this game without the wall do about 40%, whats this 75% nonsense?
Most moves that create the big combos are horribly unsafe, or very punishable as well it's about learning your defense.

And DOA is horrible, there is a reason there is no competitive scene for it...
