"Penalty has been imposed"
My game crashed (d3d error) during the character intros, got this message when I booted the game again. What exactly is the penalty?

people will dodge you because you will have red name, and you've deranked on some of ur chars.

I don't think you get the red name right away lol. the penalty is just a dimishing of any upcoming promotion streaks so you start back at 0 streak, despite keepung any actual streaks. I believe the red name comes after a few of those DCs. In previous games you need a few then you change into a color i forgot--then to red as a final punishment.

Also I've had this message appear on my Leo during a game which me and the guy DCd after the 1st round. My Leo is still her original rank.

When someone gets red name is it permanent? Sounds pretty tasty punishment even if it's not permanent because I think most would avoid them like a plague.

Especially since I didn't actually want to disconnect, the game crashed.

then wait for bug to be fixed before ruining other people's games online? (or revert ur AMD drivers, because this crash only happens with AMD graphics cards during actual gameplay itself, unless you use STEAM OVERLAY WHILE LOADING with nvidia card, then it will crash there too)

I've tried everything, updating the drivers, rolling back, changing borderless to full-screen, cleaning the old registry data with ccleaner, still crashes. I'm upset especially now since I didn't actually have crashes in ranked matches until today, so I thought I was safe in that mode, and now the game punishes me for it.

AMD is just not optimized for unreal engine man.... if that's the card you got I feel sorry for ya, but you should be using nvidia (Which is what the game store page recommends and what you see in splash screens when you open game) Doesn't crash as long as steam overlay is disallowed and you play full screen.
they'll probably fix the issue but you'll need to help them.

(helps them if you include your dxdiag too, win+r dxdiag, save all information, and upload that .txt file for them)

Nobody is going to change their gpu just because of one devs incompetence, that's not a fix.

Edit: I'm sure Namco has been notified about this hundreds of times by now

Same happened to me when i was waititng is a lobby and game hanged , had to quit using alt+f4 and later i got "you have been penalized" message , stupid ♥♥♥♥

Next time try waiting if it just "hangs" as in it still keeps you in the game, just frozen. I had to wait forever when that happened once but it did eventually throw me back to the menu without penalty. The penalty only seems to happen if you get the d3d error.

thinking they've been notified hundreds of times helps noone, send them your info if you ever want to see a fix. your dxdiag might have info they need.

You should go with a ps4 with you ♥♥♥♥ attitude. AMD ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and you piss on BAMCO for that.
