Tekken 7 with a fight stick = so awesome and much easier

I've been using a gamepad until now and I finally got an arcade stick, Qanba Q4 RAF, and oh my gaaaawd everything is so much easier!

I don't play at arcades very much and I've been using gamepads like DS4 and even a USBfied Sega Saturn controller for years, and I tried both of them with Tekken 7 and not surprisingly the Saturn controller with its better d-pad and buttons was easier to use, but compared to the arcade style fight stick they're both terrible, even though I'm waaaay more used to those controllers.

I mean literally everything is easier, the movement and the button presses feel good and for whatever reasons I manage to complete moves more reliably. And it really has nothing to do with the size of the controllers for me because I'm a small girl and I've seen guys say the controllers are uncomfortable for them because of their big hands, well I have small hands and still the fight stick is way easier for me too.

So yeah as they say you could use a gamepad and even a keyboard (that doesn't have ghosting) and many pros do too, and you may not like fight sticks even, but I definitely recommend that you at least try it! But one thing is for sure, don't go for a low quality fight stick (I tried that) because there's a night and day difference between a fight stick with a Sanwa joystick and buttons like the Q4 RAF or Mad Catz tournament edition sticks, or other sticks with Sanwa parts, and lower quality fight sticks. Oh and I think it's a really good feature for a fight stick to have both xinput / xbox360 mode and directinput mode.

So yeah, I just want you all to have fun controling your favorite fighter characters :).

Cool. I've been really tempted to get either a HORI Fighting Stick Mini 4 (I'm used to small peripherals) or a Qanba Q1. But at the same time, I'm really comfortable with my DS4. It's definitely on the to-do list though.

That and TE S+ should both be good, but TE S+ is smaller. They have the same joystick and buttons. Basically any stick with a Sanwa JLF joystick and Sanwa buttons should be good. Some are sturdier than others. Just make sure you get one that works on PC with Windows 10. The Xbox One TE S+ for example is problematic, but the PS4 version has PC drivers. I can definitely say that I love the Q4RAF and no drivers needed.

Maybe you could sell some things you don't use. And maybe you could find a barely used one for a low price on eBay or some other place. But also maybe you should check out fight sticks if you're not familiar with them so that you won't regret buying it. Basically the arcade machines are the same.

i cant seem to get the diagonals right with a fight stick(q7 raf with octogon gate). i personally use an official saturn usb in game and an xbox 360 controller for the menus/navigation( the saturn dpad maps to the left stick and cant be changed, the left stick doesn't work in menus)

I also had a d-pad problem with my Saturn controller. I used x360ce and I had to disable "Axis To D-Pad" in the Advanced tab. You copy x360ce to Steam\steamapps\common\TEKKEN 7\TekkenGame\Binaries\Win64

I dont want to mess with that cause the saturn controller works with no problems on kof and street fighter. might just try putting the square gate back it the qanba and see how it goes.

Oh lots of people have had d-pad problems with Tekken 7 so it's not your controller's fault really. But yeah anyway do put the square gate back in the Q4, I've read lots of comments about pros and cons of each and it seems like square is probably much better.
