Lee low damage output?

Hi. I'm new and trying to find a character that I like. I'm interested in Lee and Steve so far. But Steve is kinda unique as he has 2 buttons for dodges apparently. So I'm watching combos for Lee and I see everyone saying that he sucks and deals very little damage is this true? Thanks..

Every character is good and deals a specifick amount of damage from low to high... Every character has weaker and stronger attacks, doesn't mean that the character itself is weak... Besides, lee is a great character and defnitley up in my top 10 of all time.

yes hes damage output is not great. terrible compared to some.

I've been hearing some mixed things about Lee as well.

Overall, I think the best way to play a game like this is by playing who you like :3

Lee has low damage because of his insane combos and frame advantage,

Lee on avarage gets around 60 dmg from regular launchers.He gets 70dmg from big launchers and CHs. He have insane damage near walls, because he is mainly a wall-carry character. He is also not easy to use, most his combos are done with b2~f, b2~f etc...

You gotta be able to master mist step and it's mechanics to deal a lot of damage but Lee have some very fast and good moves so if you can't get used to mist step you can always use easier combos with less damage.

I just made a sample combo for you since that's the second time someone question Lee's damage output, I have a little bit of experience on TTT2 as Lee so all I can say is if you can make this combo you can anything as Lee (except his just frames, lol) and the hardest part is definetely getting used to Mist step and Sway, specially the while rising part of the sway but you'll eventually get used to it plus Lee can wall carry easily.
