Why p2p connection and no Steam SDK or dedicated servers?
p2p connection is the worst. Players can't connect in tournaments and ranked matches cz of differernt ports, NAT and router settings!

We need full Steam SDK support or dedicated servers! Otherwise game will die in matter of competitive multiplayer fighting...

I can not connect even with my friends! We create private lobby choose a character and then on Synching screen we just get disconnected wvery time! It's frustrated as F

Guys, you seem to not to understand how fighting games work like. A P2P connection is ultimately the best decision since it's a straight connection between two players, which is usually the max amount of players in fighting games.

Adding a server is going to do nothing else than add extra frames of input lag. Even ONE extra frame of lag when compared to a P2P connection in your zone is already enough to not to use servers and instead use P2P. We're talking about a genre where a single frame can mean the difference between being safe and being punished with a combo that can take half of your lifebar.

If your opponent's connection sucks it will suck no matter what you're using, if a server or P2P. Servers wont magically fix anything and the match is still going to suck.

Dunno if you guys are just trolling or you don't know what you are talking about.

It has always been, and will be p2p connection in 2 player games! It is much faster than putting useless server in the middle. wtf
Yes thats why ppl cant find opponents for 10+mins or even hours. Wow so much faster such great experience

That's not how it works at all either. Steamworks takes care of matchmaking, you know, STEAM SERVERS? This has literally nothing to do with the game using P2P.

So devs should announce "online features on our game gonna work 50/50" b4 you buy it else they must fix it. Dunno why u complain

But there IS a server involved in the matchmaking process, so no it would be better as the server is already there. There can be a ton of reasons why you cannot find people and it taking this long. The simple fact a server IS there didn't help you apparantly.

This is something that can be on your end, but it's more than likely that the issue is on BandaiNamco their end and they need to fix it as there are a lot of connection issues in T7 for many people.

The matchmaking would've worked the same if the game hosted the matches in servers because the matchmaking coding is what's flawed, not the actual fights. Can you please stop moving the goalpost now?

Woudlve or dont i dont care, i bought a game and want it working, now it dont. Never has any problems with hots, dota, tera and etc online games
P2P is the best option for 1v1. This is how online in every fighting game works. Adding a server between you and your opponent will only encrease the lag. If you or other guy have poor connection or wi-fi - dedicated server will not fix the match.

Well not really, but if Bamco has done so many things right, why not hit it out of the baseball park?
Also, Bamco is pushing this as a competitive game, but it isn't really gna last if competitive is through p2p.
Because dedicated servers are not cheap, and for its first PC entry, why be the only fighting game in history to use dedicated servers?
Why not be the first game in history?
This topic is a joke. Don't be silly..... Its the best for a fighting game . Choose the connection 4 bar or above and its like "offline".

Because being the first in history to do something stupid is not a good thing? This is like asking why Street Fighter V isn't the first fighting game that requires you to use a keyboard, three controllers and a mobile at the same time just to play with your character.

And Street Fighter V actually has server hosted matches too, but they only happen in extremely rare cases since you know.... P2P is actually better at everything in this case. Most of the playerbase don't even know that they're a thing in that game.

Because it would be a very, very, very dumb thing to do. There's a reason why fighting games aren't done through dedicated servers.
This thread would make sense if something like Overwatch used p2p, but here, I suspect all you guys are trolling or... I don't know...
