Rage in a practice battle

All over the youtube I see people in the practice fights getting the Rage state from the start yet I've never had it in the practice no matter what I do. Is it only me who doesn't get the Rage there? Do I have to do something specific to get it? Nothing about it in the options either.

Press start, press R1 and go into the settings, turn on rage status.

I only found it out yesterday after spending a couple hours in practice mode too.
I'd give you a high five for being blind buddies but we'd miss.

Haha, precisely, buddy! But I also think that spending the most of the last two nights playing Tekken contributed towards my blindness. :D
