Tekken Tag Tournament, like in the name, has tag matches. It makes perfect sense.
If they had tag battles in the regular tekken, what purpose would Tekken Tag Tournament serve?
Maybe it's not acceptable with its "lore", but really who cares about that in a fighting game.
In a Tekken Tag game, you NEED another character to do substantial damage and cut off the opponent's health regen. The strategy and meta is different.
And no, having more modes in this case won't make players happier. It might actually piss some people off because we already had a Tekken Tag Tournament. It was the last installment 5 years ago.
And not to mention the ESports for this game will be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare.
As for lore, a lot of people care about lore. I care about lore. The Tekken lore is quite interesting.
And yes you're right, balancing needs to be made. And what exactly is the problem with that?
If both modes are balanced and are functioning like they should, I don't understand why not implementing both. They have the experience with both so I am sure the're capable of doing that.
If you have more to do in a game, that is for many players a positive thing. Sure they can ♥♥♥♥ it up but that is not the point.
Don't get me wrong, I like interesting lore sure. It's just not a focus of mine in games like this.
We can discuss further or just agree on TT is not in the game ;)
How about it be 1v1, but it's a different character per round, so if you win one, you continue, but if you do not, you continue with your 2nd or 3rd fighter.
you can make a lobby with friends thats 1v1 king of the hill. winner stays on.
If they want to add a tag mode, they have to also make a low quality version of every character to allow 4 character models on screen without slowing the game down.
2.And just adding a tag mode isn't enough, they have to also spent a lot of time making new moves, balancing it etc.
If they did add tag mode it would be a unbalanced novelty at best.
