Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost

Everytime during the chapter 13 cutscene in story mode and while Kazumi transforms in Arcade mode, my game crashes. Any one else with this problem? Tried redownloading the game, updating gfx, downgrading gfx, reducing clock speed, playing on lowest, playing on ultra... nothing changes anything.

Edit: Downgrade your drivers to 16.11.5 - this fixes the problem, BUT you need to disable automatic driver updates, or windows will always update them back to 17.1.1, and then you'll have crashes again.

Try going to display settings and changing it to full screen instead or borderless.

welp seems like I will never be able to do special matches in treasure mode since my game will crash on transformed kazumi

From what i understand its due to certain costumes and unfortunatly transformed Kazumi. The ammount of people suffering from this problem will probs mean there will either be a patch or a driver update soon

R9 380 again, seems to hate UE4.. also crashes if you go to character customisation, go to asuka and try to look at the octupus head dress thing.

Tried changing resolution, windowed, full, latest drivers, installing UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe and even underclocking my graphics card, still same error.

Using older drivers for AMD R9 380 not the x version but I'm willing to bet it will fix your issue as well if you want to give it a go. I used DDU removed current drivers restart and then proceeded to install Radeon-Software-Crimson-Edition-16.11.5. That cutscene now works correctly and so far no crash. Hope this helps some people.
