How to change region?

I'm pretty sure I picked Asia as region but my friend told me I picked Japan. Wanted to change to asia. Can't seem to play versus with him

Change steam download region to Japan, since he's in Japan or vice versa? Oh, is done via Steam Client, not the game...

i dunno if you got it but before you can play you are to pick a region in game and I want to change it. It doesn't seem to have the option in game to change. I don't think the download region is the solution

Some games get player location, nickname, etc. from Steam profile. If Tekken 7 uses it's own system then of course it doesn't work. Region info may be stored in some ini file, but I can't check since I get the game later today.

Havuing the same problem im in the EU but game has me listed as being in North America... cant connect to anyone online

same here cant find games and my profile displays im in EU when im not.

i had it set to ecuador and counldnt find anyone. switched to miami and getting lots of games.

I picked japan by mistake and im in EU. subbed to find out

I've tried to disable steam cloud feature, and delete customize1.sav ( C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\TekkenGame\Saved\SaveGames\TEKKEN7\XXXXXX ),then restar game and select your region again. You'll lost your character customization, but your game data and items you purchased won't lost. But I still suggeste to backup your save file first.

Shouldn't you be able to change the region within the game too? I mean the only time picking a region was at the very start and when I remember correctly it said it can be changed later?! O.o

On Windows 10, the in-game display is dependent on the region set in the settings panel. I haven't tested how it affects matchmaking but that should be the right setting.

thanks this is the right way to change region

You can only change your region by going to control panel>clock,language and region> region and select your home country.
also make sure to check your steam download region in steam>settings>downloads. Restart after applying any changes.
When you first time start the game and it gives you option to select asia,japan etc that just an acceptance of privacy policy it has nothing to do with your region.
