Netcode is the only thing that can kill a fighting game on PC. I expect this game to last. It won't be as populous as console obviously but I don't see it dropping to SNK Fighting Games level.
The PS4 Pro can only upscale 4K but runs natively at much much lower resolutions.
In other words no console can run what the PC currently has to offer.
But outside of 4k, any graphical differences ?
I can't imagine that the PS4 version looks as good as ultra on PC.
Also, looks like that by default, there is a blur and a film grain filter applied to the game. Noticed it and it bothered me right away. If you search "grain" in these forums, you'll see a post that shows you how to remove both. The game looks better and more crisp after doing so.
I'm assuming these are automatically applied on the PS4 version as well, only difference is you can't edit .ini files on PS4 so you're stuck with those atrocious filters.
No it isn't. Lack of support for the game in comparison to the console versions will do it too. Look at xenoverse 2: went from many players to very few in about a week. Belated support from bamco (same publisher hence the comparison) and unwillingness to punish cheaters and hackers led to the community dying off really quick.
This is a fighter and techical issues aside, it requires contant updating in terms of balancing etc. Bamco are known for dropping a game and then abandoning it (or releasing one minor patch if that)
Sigh, no wonder there is no Crossplay because PC players will only care Graphics instead.
On topic: The PC version does look better thanks to increased resolution and more graphics options as well as being able to toggle the filters through the .ini file, however the experience is great on all platforms thanks to it being a fighting game. The devs for that genre always aim for 60 so you'll get a great play experience and it'll look great on both, the PC version just gets a few advantages for being PC.
If the netcode proves to be okay it might sit around 1-2k regular players in the long run, which is still a lot for a PC game without crossplay.
Heck, even my settings on High beats the PS4 out of the water.
The netcode is good, played 20 matches or so, 0 input delay, no frame drops, no de-syncs, felt almost like offline mode.
