Set Steam's priority to High in the Task Manager to help with the unpacking speed

Useful tip, thanks! Definitely cut down my loading time to about 30min.

From Task Manager, right-click 'Steam Client Bootstrapper' team and choose 'Go to details'. Right-click the 'steam.exe' process and choose 'Set priority > high'

well... glad someone noticed my posts. Does wonders. It's because when steam is in normal priority everything else you do on your pc will also take all the cpu power that would otherwise be used for unpacking.
On high priority, it gives all it can to steam to do it.
I bet results may wary though. CPU speed and whether you're installing to SSD or HDD changes the time it takes.

Just remember to set it back to normal after you're done.

I set my priority to high but it's still saying about the same time....but Steam also says it's downloading an update for the game despite it being at 100% with zero network activity

Been using steam for years, have been preordering and preloading here for years, this is the first I have ever heard of this.
