Oh that mode was the best! Had so much fun playing with my character for days!
It's hard to comprehend that game modes like this were included in fighting games, and now 12+ years later, we've gone backwards in terms of single-player.......sigh.
It's so frustrating because Tekken still has my favorite gameplay in a fighting game, and for it to be mixed with a variety of genuinely great single-player modes like this, I can easily see myself putting more than double the time into it than I probably will now with the modes we currently have.
Holding out a ton of hope on the DLC mode over here lol.
With all of that said, to answer the OP, Tekken has loved adding bonus modes to their games, so I'd be willing to bet you'll find some fun and engaging modes in Tekken 7, whether single or multiplayer. I'm excited to dive in tomorrow! :D
You can't expect other devs not noticing and upholding that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ standard with the kind of crap community the fighters community has.
This is one of the reasons why imo western gaming companies have won over Japanese ones in the fighting games arena. NRS cares for more than just the hardcore multiplayer blockheads and also for the people that like singleplayer and local multiplayer, giving them simply much more success.
"Injustice 2" has an endless ammount of towers with random match-changing things.
Also, the armor doesn't change much.
I've got the warning "The enemy is 8 levels higher than you! Don't do this mission!" but it felt like every other tower.
The "RPG"-style progression is in this game barely noticable.
Also no, "Tekken 7" has not much singleplayer content.
Only 3 modes and one of them gets excludet after beating it.
Yeah I was hoping they would patch in a Vs. CPU sometime. Its looking like it's not gonna be Day 1 patch tho.
But yeah single player stuff for this right now is story mode, arcade and treasure mode. And you can keep fighting for FM to unlock customization stuff and gallery stuff.
But yeah they could have had more modes and some pretty simple stuff to make too.
On the PS2 I guess there was more motivation to make single player stuff since there was no online. I remember Soul Calibur 3 was crammed with single player stuff. Soul Calibur 4, I guess that had less.
