Hard to tell, you might get proper matches if your opponents are really close to your location, if it is like tekken tag 2, you'll be able to set what kind of connection you want to have before looking for someone that suits those choices

From what i have seen, down and up speed dosen't affect ping.
so yeah distance matter only.
tested online connection on my 4mbps and 50 mb connection
ping were same.

What's your ping?

If the game has decent netcode, then it should be enough.

2mbps= 219kbps = 3 days 7 hours 32 minutes 11 seconds download roughly maybe a little less...

You should look into a higher connection wose comes to worse get 10nbps thats 15 hours 54 minutes 26 seconds download roughly..

I guess he is from Pampanga, Philippines. With that download speed he still can't play day one even if pre-load starts 24 hours before release.

Philippines internet really does suck balls.

This is why in my 4 years of experience with TTT2, I never had more than 2 hours online experience.

down and up do affect ping. depends n game, for example, u can't play overwatch with anything below 5 mbps connection. fighting games need to send/grab even more data than a first person shooter I'd think.

Hmm lets see I tested connection on fps game.
Maybe u are right fighting games might need better internet.

If you fight someone local it should be ok. Especially if on the same ISP. Ping is ok.

As Shiki mentioned. Fightings are the most demanding. You play by frames and hence everything matters.
