Remember when fighting games had the best graphics?

I'm old enough to remember when Street Fighter 2 looked amazing. And when Tekken 1-3 came out on Playstation (especially 3) it was the best looking thing on the console. Pretty much the same with Tekken 5. But then...I don't know. They should still be the best looking because they only have to model a small environment and 2 characters. But while Tekken 7 looks good, it's far from the best looking game out there.

Not a big deal, just a little disappointed that the genre isn't as graphically amazing as it used to be.

Level designers? OK, let's just talk character models then. For example hair in Tekken vs hair in Horizon. Not even close.

Hair? this is about hair? omg this is dumber than i thought, its like arguing Dragon Ball Z's Goku's hair is less realistic than "Horizon syndrome down" Not all game developers care nor should care about Photo realistic graphics.

Tekken 7 looks fine, but that's all. You won't see it mentioned in any best looking game awards. It looks good for a 3D fighting game. That's about the most you can say about it.

And yes Ripple, Horizon's character models and hair look a little better to me with the level loaded or not:

Of course silly, tekken 7 main prirority goes to balance not gameplay experience. Horizon Zero is a campaign driven game and therefore there is a need to maintain an immersive experience. Its like comparing a truck and a car, they are both vehicle but they have usually have different aim and purposes. Afterall, tekken 7 does give you an option for pc to go up to 4k or higher if you do not think that the game is graphically sufficient for you. As a matter of fact, there is a reason why this game in pc version is 60gb in comparsion to injustice 2 which is 27ish gb. Probably high quality model that cant be fully utilize due to ps4 hardware limits. That.is.if.you.have.gtx1080.atleast.eksdee

I wont argue that Horizon Zero looks better because it probably does as stated by you, but tekken 7 isnt that far off either.
Do note that most gameplay out there are ps4 footage which are not even full hd 1080p but rather 900p due to a need to maintain a stable 60fps

Theres is definietly a noticable difference, i think a majority of people do not know the existance of this video, do crank up the video quality up to 4k if it's possible.

there's only two things that really bother, even annoy me: 1) snow stage -> no foot prints when you move; 2) water stage (Infinite Azure) -> characters are like jesus and water doesn't give a phukk that there's movement, explosions, impacts etc etc

This is due to the state of Japanese game development industry in general. Hardly any games from there look graphically mindblowing anymore due to limited budgets and lack of experience with more modern engines.

Despite not being the graphical powerhouse you could expect from the series in the PS1 and PS2 days, Tekken 7 still does look quite good though (just extremely uneven).

Actually you only need to look at Tekken Tag Tournament 2 to find better looking hair than Tekken 7.

Snow in TTT2 and Tekken 6 also left prints, in Tekken 7 it doesn't.

Both games have very different art directions, its like comparing the Storm games to Dynasty Warriors or something and saying Dynasty Warriors looks better because it had higher fidelity naturality from its art direction.
