Yeah it's surprising they wouldn't have that after the SFV flak...but yeah unless the YellowMotion guy missed something or Namco adds it post-release, I guess it won't have it.
So for me, basic modes should be a normal "VS. CPU" mode, where you pick your fighter and you can pick a fighter for the CPU.
Than "Arcade Mode", just quick battles one after another till I get the big ending.
And NO, people should stop say that "Training Mode" is the same as "VS. CPU".
You don't get the feel of accomplishment without any winning pose... the battles also don't start with an introduction.
Gameplaywise, sure, you can set up "Training Mode" as "VS. CPU" but the feel is vastly different.
And in "Arcade Mode", I just have a bigger goal at the end, and reatching it also feels good.
if you say you never go online while playing game....
my question is, how are you going to download tekken 7 in steam ?
is there a real physical copy for PC in day one ?
the fact that you even have access to steam is miraculous by this logic.....
anyway, i understand if you mean you wish to play it offline like i do.
but tekken has always been online since its tekken 5 arcade edition,
where they had the data card and stuff that grants players access to customizations and global ranking (correct me if i'm wrong).
The nearest thing i can think of is treasure battle or ghost battle,
vs cpu is really kinda boring imo, if you want to practice your combo, why not make it universal ? if you want to tackle a certain character, training mode has it covered....
vs mode is not even a good way to practice combo anyway.
if the accomplishment is what you seek.... hm... that;s a niche market tekken have to tackle.
What the hell are you talking about?
I mean that I don't fight online... I don't fight against other humans and I'm only interested in fighting the AI.
I also pre ordered the game already for PS4.
My goal also isn't to train fancy combos... I just wanna put the game in and fight a bit... no more, no less.
I know that "Tekken" always has online modes... but as I said, I don't want the game to be completely offline, I just don't wanna use online modes.
So yeah... clearly a misunderstanding... xD
EDIT: Also, the marked wasn't niche enough for people going apesh!t cause of "Street Fighter 5".
has tekken ever include vs cpu in their game ?
as i recall, tekken 5, 6, ttt2 on ps3 or psp i never seen any vs cpu battle
i only has the memory of selecting vs cpu on street fighter 2 SNES.....
There was "Free Battle" in Tekken 5DR on PSP. Only expection in the series.
To be true, I have no clue.
I play "TTT 2" till "T 7" get's released and it also don't have such a mode.
And yeah, I don't like it that much this way, but I like the arcade-mode.
The "Team Battle"-mode is pretty much worthless, cause after every defeated char, the game has to load and the mach has to start over.
I just know "Injustice" and "Mortal Kombat" have these.
Also, "The King Of Fighters XIV" has a really neat idea inside the "VS CPU" mode.
If you use a random char or a random group, win/lose a mach and hit "Quick Rematch", every char is selected new for the next fight automaticaly.
"Dead Or Alive 5" has something like that... and "Smash Bros".
Well, in "Smash Bros", it's really perfect, cause the "VS CPU" is also a big attraction with how much you can customize a match.
I also play "Injustice 2" quite a bit and I just like to select my char, select the opponent and beat him up, and if the match was fun or I just wanna play the exact same matchup, I hit restart.
I just hope the "Arcade Mode" in "Tekken 7" is any good, cause someone here mentioned it only lasts for around 3-4 minutes or so... wtf?
It's 5 fights, 5th one being final boss..., from what I saw best 2 out of 3 rounds, maybe it can be set to the standard best 3 out 6 rounds.
It also keeps track of your total time taken to complete.
I dunno if any Tekken has had a vs. CPU before.
MK9 did not, SFIV did. Injustice, MKX did...and then SFV did not (at first).
Only 5 fights?
Hmm ok... fair enough.
The first tower in "Injustice 2" also has just 5 foes, so it's not a big deal.
And as long as the first 4 oponents are randomly chosen, it's not a problem, not like the "Survival Mode" in "SF V".
All in all, I wish it has "Tekken Force" or something like that.
The treasure battles are a nice adition, but nothing special.
Every "BlazBlue" has this "Abyss Mode" with RPG elements and such things... I just love that sh!t!
"Guilty Gear" has the same thing, and the whole "Multiverse Mode" is full of special things in "Injustice 2".
Every special mode like that is welcome, so I hope the "DLC Mode" is something special.
"Soul Calibur 3" has a whole RTS-Fighting-Whatever mode.
As long as I'm not interested in fighting against other people, I don't care if fighting against the AI is bad for my skill, if the the only thing I'm doing is fighting against the AI. ^^
i get boring at times when i knowingly fight with the stock "CPU" opponent
ghost system is great as i can see the name changes, it gave me illusions on i'm fighting with the best player's AI, and i can remember which ghost player has higher combo skill or evading skill...
online mode in the other hand..... low ping and no drops is all we need, i don't ask for more.
not being able to select enemy AI in fights it's ridiculous for a fighting game....even capcom knows this.
except for mortal kombat 9 i cannot think of one fighting game i've ever played that didn't let you select AI opponents and stages...and i played a crapload of fighting games
