Stupid Feather bug on Day 3

I´m at the part on Day 3 where you have to put the feather on the tree stump but nothing happens. I watched some walkthroughs and i do exactly the same thing but nothing happens. The question was asked several times on the web but i can´t find any answers so far.

Any body got any tipps on how to proceed? Really wanted to finish the game...
