Knight Online

Malware Detected "KnightOnLine.exe"
The above mentioned executable file has been quarantined by Anti - virus program and classified as "Malware Generic.P0". This executable files originate from Knight online Steam folder.
You may find the file reside at following path " x:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knight Online.exe

Currently, The entire folder has been excluded from virus scanning program so that I can continue playing the game else the game won't launch at all. This incident happens a few hours ago. Is there anyone encounter the same issues ?

Solution for my case:
Options 1
Launch STEAM home page, re-validate your knight online files. If Knight online executable file not found or cannot be launch, go option 2 below
Option 2
Uninstall and reinstall a new copy of Knight online client so that quarantined by Anti-Virus program is being restore. Be safe, re-validated your knight online files again

After above steps, remove excluded folders that being added in your Anti-Virus program that doing real-time scanning thingy if you will. This should resolve issues for not being launch or missing knight online executable file. Hope that it helps folks. Later

Most of us had same issues here. As NTTgame said,"It is a false-Alarm" and I believe they're looking into it while we were discussing now in this forum. With that said, we all uses different Anti virus program, it is viable to provide them some info as we wait for resolution here. In this case, it might not work for you due to different anti virus program but it might work for me as they already look into my case.

Please read 13 Feb@ 5:26p.m. as I was requested type of anti virus program used.

what worked for me was shutting off my real time scan and then turning on ko and turning back on real time scan. it worked pretty well so far

For my case, my real-time scan always "ON" before any other program starts. This is to prevent certain malicious infecting any local program files then goes into invisible that can bypass real-time scanning.

If doesn't matter before or after turning real-time scan but it should work either way if its' claim "false-positive".

For your case, something is fishy.

I just downloaded knight online, then I pressed play on steam to enter the game, but before that, my computer gave 1 windows defender warning, I didn't care, but when the game was opened and the sign up screen came, 5-6 windows defender warning came, then I closed the game directly and deleted it about 10 times I did a quick 3 times full windows defender scan and it gave me this virus code 'PUA:Win32/Pearfoos.B!ml' but it said it was blocked and deleted, but I'm still afraid, I didn't download anything other than steam,. Is there any chance of getting a virus from knight online?this is what shows up as infected files 'file: x:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Knight Online\KnightOnLine.exe'

Instead of focusing Malware issues etc. I upgraded my Operating System of version below and didn't see any Malware reported on "x:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Knight Online\KnightOnLine.exe" Neither Windows defender nor Fortinet Anti-Virus programme

Version: 21H1
Installed on : 16/8/2022
OS build: 19043.1889
