Ultra widescreen (21:9) or widesceren (16x 9)
So I need to update my monitor.
Would I be better off with Ultra Wide screen (21:9) or wide screen (16:9) for FSW?
PNY GTX 6 GB 1060, 24 GB ram.
Any ideas?

Ultra-wide would probably be more immersive.

im not so sure, in fsx there are some addons that have different penal textures and models for ultra-wide screens because the normal ones look 'stretched out' without them (i assume)
i never had an ultra wide screen so cant say for sure, and this may not matter for fsw anyway
just something to consider, maybe someone with an ultra wide will chime in :-)

I have an 21:9 Ultra wide screen. Nothing looks stretched out. The game seems to be perfectly modified for Ultra wide screen. I just can recommend it :)

for this game ultra yes, but be aware there are some games not working well with ultra.

21:9 FTW. most modern Games can handle it.
Dont be confused about Black Space on Left and Right Side of the Monitor in the main menu, most games shows only 16:9 in Mainmenu but Ingame is 21:9 supported.

21:9 is best for flightsim. So much more immersive. I use Predator X34. Before that I had the LG 34UM69 which was great at half the price of the X34. I would recommend the LG even though its only 1080p

Heads up on older games that dont play well on ultrawide, you can go into Nvidia Control Panel and set scaling options so some games wont be stretched out.

I can also concure that a 21:9 is the way to go i have a ASUS ROG PG384 and it is awsome..
