To the Devs, -Affinity Mask =-1??
This questions is probably more to the devs...
Hi, Previously with Dovetail flight school and FSX Steam, ive had to go into the CFG file to adjust [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask, to either 14 or 84 depending if I have GPU hyperthreading enabled on or off. If I didnt do this FSX or Flight school would lock up my system mid flight.

- Now ive discovered the same problem with FSW, so naturally I added into the CFG:[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=14
Now hoping to fix the problem, my issue is I lost about 20 fps and the sim stuttered.

So now ive put Affinity Mask back to -1 as default, but unfortunately will have to put up with some mid flight PC lock ups.

Wondering if there may be a solution to this?, thanks

well, you won't like that...but just turn off HT in your bios settings. HT is the source of lot of problems, just stick to your physicals cores.

or you can try to launch FSW and set the affinity process manually through the task manager and see if it cure the crash WITH keeping your fps

I gained 20fps setting affinity mask for my i7 (84), there definitely seems something amiss with hyperthreading. GPU usage went up to about 65% utilisation from about 35%.

I can see about a 25% increase in reported fps by switching my affinity mask from the default -1 to 84. I'm running a 6700k.

I reported this to DTG last night using their bug form, the more that are reported may get a higher priority assigned to looking into it.

Well i didnt gain any fps with this, but im quite happy with my 30 fps. Another thing is i dont think its a good idea for people to mess around with this, 99% have no idea what they are doing, making more harm than good

Thanks for reporting it and your replys. I've enebled hyper threading on my gpu so il try 84 also. I also run i7 6700k x gtx 970.

It's been crucial for me to change the Affinity mask in cfg file for both FSX and flight school. If I didn't change the setting, both sims would completely lock up my system. Unfortunately FSW is the same for me.
I've read in some other forums that users of gtx 970 have also experienced similar issues.

AffinityMask is to do with the CPU and not GPU.

Using GTX970 with i5-6600K and no issues as you describe. Using Microsoft's Performance Monitor I see that FSW is not too bad at utilizing all my four CPU cores. Hard to see a need for AffinityMask now.

What is your CPU?

I think it is more to do with hyperthreading. Affintymask set to 84 on a quad core hyperthreaded cpu forces FSW onto three physical cores.

Not being an expert my guess is FSW is potentially suffering from core collision.
