I've been replaying the game since yestarday trying to get back to where I was before the game decided to delete my save and TBH stopped playing yestarday and today 'cause I had to rage quit because I was tired of being blocked and replaying races 'cause I missed a few blue craps behind.
I've got to the point of restarting a good run on the final lap just because I've missed the blue craps.
It's really annoying!
Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOwdtpBUwAE
I think it was inspired by Top Gear as they are a Brazilian studio and people usually love Top Gear over here, dang they even have the same music!
I dunno if Top Gear had these same mechanics or not 'cause I haven't played it back then.

This game I never heard of, but it looks exactly like Lotus, and the first Lotus (Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge) came out in 1990, Top gear came out in 1992. However Outrun looked also like Lotus, and came out in 1986...
I just found on playstation.com it says for Horizon Chase Turbo: "Thrilling arcade racing game, inspired by Outrun, Top Gear, Lotus Turbo Challenge and the whole generation of super-fun-straight-to-the-point racing games." So we can be all happy now :D

Outrun I think it's different! Outrun reminds more of Hang On with that kind of "infinite" racing track limited by the time.
But yeah LOL they were inspired by it all!
Yeah I know but it's not limited by laps, it's limited by the time.
If you suck and don't get time extenders (reach the checkpoint before the timer runs out) you'll never finish the race.
While on lap based games you usually can finish last but can technically reach the end at least of the track LOL
I will never forget, when you run out of time in OutRun your blonde girlfriend is mad at you pointing and arguing with you lol.
LOL I bet she would shout "See I told you we should have asked for directions! You don't know the way!"
Also they make couch co-op racing more fun
but that's my taste, you guys sure have the right to disagree :D
i used to play outrun when i was a kid.
I thought this game was inspired on Outrun, but now i see there was so many games like it!
thanks for your posts
Have fun!
And yes in the old top gear games part of the difficulty was not crashing into other racers and some of them do block your way on higher difficulties.
I don't think its bad at all. You need to realize, the game would be too easy and boring if all you did was just race on empty roads with easy AI that lets you pass them like nothing. It adds an extra layer of strategy and challenge.
I generally agree, yet I do think that AI could use some situational awareness.
It's painfully obvious that current AIs are simply programmed to float toward your car no matter what. Plus, there is no apparent repercussion for AI cars from collision.
So if you are caught between an AI car and the roadside, it will unquestionably Vettel squeeze you to crash. And if you are caught between two AI cars, you will be bumped around like a pinball and lose speed while AI cars drive away like nothing happened.
These situations can be easy worked around for sure, yet it doesn't make them any less silly.
